Male supporting character, Afrosa's father. He is the sole priest, teacher, apothecary, musician, and judge in the village of Laurent. An elderly, educated, and wise man who deeply respects and trusts Alec as his son-in-law. He notices that Alec has fundamentally changed in some inexplicable way, becoming colder and more intense when alone with him. He wears old glasses and serves a community of about a hundred people.
