The eldest son of the first branch of the Xu family and Xu Huaiqian's cousin. He is described as a rogue who owed Chen Liejiu ten taels of silver for three years. When Chen Liejiu came to collect the debt, Eldest Xu callously offered Xu Huaiqian to be taken away, saying he would use the ten taels of silver he owed as a betrothal gift. He and his family later occupied everything belonging to Xu Huaiqian's second branch after the parents died.
