"Daddy, I want to get down and fight the monsters." — I am deceased. A FOUR-DAY-OLD BABY is asking to fight zombies and his dad's first response is basically 'shoot fireballs from the car, buddy.' And then when he gets put down and starts concentrating energy in his tiny hands?? The flames are described as 'hotter and harder to extinguish' than Qiao Xia's. This child is already outperforming adult ability users and he hasn't even learned to walk properly yet. But what got me was the quiet moment before all that. Ji Tianyi lying in the sleeping bag, drowsily thinking in his dreams about wanting to become stronger quickly so he could help Dad fight monsters. He's a baby. He doesn't even fully understand what's happening, but his first instinct is to want to be useful to the people he loves. That hit me in the chest. And Tian Le — oh god, Tian Le. He's the one changing diapers and making milk and holding the kid while the actual dad is doing tactical stuff. There's something so tender about that. He's not the biological parent, he's not even from this world originally, but he's the one making sure this baby eats and sleeps and feels safe. When he shivers at the sound of the lock being smashed and instinctively hugs Ji Tianyi tight — that's not just fear. That's someone who has found something to protect and he will NOT let anything happen to it. The whole family unit is just... weird and perfect and I need more.
The content is rather generic but enjoyable if you're looking for something light to read. It can be a bit overly sentimental at times, but it's tolerable. However, my main issue lies with the lack of smooth transitions between plot points. There are instances where the narrative jumps abruptly, like discussing careers and suddenly assisting a ghost, or shifting from a focus on the couple to the midpoint of a shoot. It feels like there aren't adequate connections between different events, which disrupts the flow of the story.
I genuinely appreciate the slower pace and engaging storyline, but there's one issue that keeps nagging at me, preventing me from proceeding further. The main character (ML) has a nephew whom we've only seen twice. He expresses regret for not having enough time to bond with him. However, in the upcoming chapter where they're attending a festival, wouldn't it make sense for them to bring him along? It's odd that the ML's subordinate's child appears more frequently than the nephew who seems to be overlooked.
This inconsistency is bugging me, as I have a soft spot for children. Yet, I don't want it to deter others from enjoying the story, which I believe is excellent overall. Could someone clarify if this situation will be addressed or if the author momentarily forgot about the nephew? That way, I can move on with peace of mind.
A book by a goated author dont mind me
Any romance? If so, is it the good type?
Indeed the problem is the audience, it's a pity that maybe out there are some hidden gems that I won't find because they are not popular.

The romance is not really important in this novel , the mc is the living example of " he is a man with focus and sheer f*ck*ng will"
The main character of this story is colder than professional killers. Reg cut his arm but at that moment he didn't even get scared and lied again, something that trained spies can't do and then killed two people and didn't even blink. And calmly cleaned the crime scene. And no one noticed the wound on his hand, as if everyone was blind. Even her parents did not see the wound and the bandage on her hand and she felt no harm from this near death experience, but the next day she was sad and depressed because she could not easily see Miss Dayna from now on.
