I also commend the protagonist for not passively accepting their new reality; instead, they genuinely long for their previous life.

The love interest, metaphorically speaking, resembles a heartless Jafar from Aladdin, lacking character growth.
The ML (main love interest) is an unrepentant jerk, having lost the MC once, felt remorse, and vowed to be better. However, his manipulative tendencies and gaslighting remain unchanged. It's infuriating that his occasional displays of affection pale in comparison to his constant manipulation of the MC, who struggles with mental disabilities.
The author exploits the MC's vulnerabilities, making them forget traumatic events and trivializing their issues, which is utterly unjustifiable. This treatment, especially considering the MC's condition, pushes me to despise both the ML and the author.
In summary, any good intentions the ML may have had towards the MC are nullified by his gaslighting behavior. The MC's naivety regarding the world's color, tinted as it is with rose-colored glasses, adds to my annoyance.
