To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand XP. The humour is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of life most of the jokes will go over a typical reader's head. There's also OneFist's nihilistic outlook, which is deftly woven into his characterisation - his personal philosophy draws heavily from Narodnaya Volya literature, for instance. The fans understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of these jokes, to realize that they're not just funny- they say something deep about LIFE. As a consequence people who dislike XP truly ARE idiots- of course they wouldn't appreciate, for instance, the humour in OneFist's existencial catchphrase "I am Bo0k" which itself is a cryptic reference to Turgenev's Russian epic Fathers and Sons I'm smirking right now just imagining one of those addlepated simpletons scratching their heads in confusion as OneFist's genius unfolds itself on their phones or computers. What fools... how I pity them.
The plot development and character realism is amazing! I cannot wait to see this novel being released. This is a 10/10 novel, a GodofSin guarantee!
I've read the first two chapters and I was surprised at how visceral the fight scenes were. The story itself has an intense vibe, I can clearly see what the author is going for. The grammar mistakes like maintaining auxiliary pronoun structure.
This is just pure fire, I can only feel utter amazement at the length and quality of each and every chapter. CAN NOT wait for more, waiting patiently...
The main character goes from intelligent and pragmatic to merciful and naive within about 30 chapters, on the level of a Japanese MC at that. "Oh, you just tried to kill me? That's fine, you can leave." At first, the MC killed threats without hesitation, yet later, he risks his identity being discovered (which would instantly get him hunted by those far more powerful) to kindly ask a group "please don't hunt wisps anymore". The foolish main character combined with the trope-filled writing killed the story for me, and likely will for anyone more fond of calculative/antihero MCs.
