Tang Mei explicitly thinks: 'My brother was still only a Xiucai. If the Li family caused trouble and something happened to his imperial examinations, how could she ever face her family again?' She is literally silencing her own suffering to protect someone else's ambition. And Tang Li—the transmigrator protagonist—understands this immediately. She's already calculating: 'If Auntie were to return home, it would be best to do so before Second Uncle passes the provincial exam.' The timeline is a ticking bomb. I am loving this book!!! I have actually checked the progress bar a couple of times and was VERY happy that this would be a long one. Great characters, great plot and I cannot see the twists coming. PLEASE keep writing! I will hate to see this one end.

I have read book one and really liked it but don’t wanna read as Carl dies . It is sad but I am sure that story might be good.
