Then there's the social conflict with Xu Ming, who keeps blocking their path and asking them to join his team. That's annoying but manageable. But then THAT MAN shows up—the one who lectures them about not aiming too high, about being grateful anyone would consider them. And Su Ning? She doesn't just brush him off. She dissects him. Every question she fires at him is a stake in the ground: we are not easy targets, we are not desperate, and we will not be talked down to. The real tension though, the thing that keeps me turning pages, is the unspoken threat. This world has snakes and ghosts outside the safe zone. There are teams out there who see two solo players and think they're prey. Su Ning knows this—that's why she showed her claws. And the older man's comment about "young people shouldn't aim too high"? That's not just rude, it's a warning from someone who's seen what happens to players who don't protect themselves. The stakes aren't just about leveling up or getting better gear. Grab 3 boxes of tissues. I can’t decide if I want to rate this a 1 because of how RUDE it was of the author to play with our emotions or a 5 because I have literally binge read this and could only put it down when I had to work or sleep.
