I just finished these four chapters in one sitting and I am NOT mad about it. The pacing here is absolutely relentless. Chapter 21 starts with the aftermath of Shen Miao's scheme—immediate conflict, no warm-up. We go from the public confrontation at the wedding to Shen Wan moving into Yan Xiao's bedroom in a single chapter, and by the end she's already questioning whether she has to share a bed with him. That's a huge emotional beat packed into what should be a transition chapter. Then Chapter 22 gives us this incredibly tense scene where Yan Xiao combs her hair and they have this verbal sparring match that's basically a power struggle in miniature. Chapter 23 is the wedding night disaster—the locked door, the balcony climb, the confrontation. And Chapter 24 starts with the physical escalation and then... just stops mid-cliffhanger. The author knows exactly when to cut away. Every chapter ends on a note that makes you immediately want to read the next one. There's no filler, no dragging scenes, no unnecessary exposition. Even the quiet moments—Shen Wan examining the combs, the servant bringing pastries—these serve the larger tension. The structure is basically: public conflict → private tension → physical confrontation → interrupted climax. That's textbook but it works because every beat lands.
It’s really good, I have never read that genre before, but it’s look good. It has a good character and world building. So far I read 3 chapters but I will continue to keep up to see where it goes.

I’m only a few chapters in, but this book has me cracking up! This shows well how perception without communication can cause misunderstandings and negative outcomes. Very entertaining so far.
