The author had to drop this bomb right when we were starting to settle into the domestic fluff, and it completely reframes everything. Jiang Yihuan isn't just some random girl Wei Zhao picked up—she's the sister of the man who nearly killed half his officers. That's not just a twist, that's a landmine planted in the middle of their relationship. And then the banquet scene? Chef's kiss. Young Master Cui accusing her of betraying her brother's memory while she's just standing there holding a pastry like 'I get three meals a day, why would I leave?' The irony is so thick you could spread it on bread. Her practicality is basically a weapon at this point. She doesn't play the tragic sister card at all, which makes her so much more interesting than any of the noble ladies around her. But here's what's really keeping me up at night—the Emperor's spies. Wei Zhao mentions this casually like it's background noise, but it's clearly the main threat simmering underneath everything. The Crown Prince protecting him, the political maneuvering with the Old Madam's grand-nephew... this isn't just a romance with a military backdrop. The plot is layering these threads together and I'm desperate to see how they snap into place.

The story started out really well. Captured your attention. But then it dragged on and was all over the place. It also ended abruptly. For the cost of chapters this should have been a better ending.
