I'm still not over the Lin Jianguo scenes. The way the author writes him—this honest, hardworking man who couldn't find the words to tell his daughter he loved her—is so painfully real. And Lin Ruochu's realization that she never tried to understand him, that she carried a grudge for no reason? That's the kind of regret that hits different because it's so universal. But here's what really got me: the moment Lin Ruochu sees Lin Zhiyuan standing there alive, and she remembers him dead in her past life. She doesn't say anything sweet or sentimental—she just gets emotional, and he panics and covers it up with 'I'm not doing this for your sake.' That's the most Lin Zhiyuan thing ever, and it's also the most tender thing in the whole text. He cares so much but can't just say it. And Zhang Xiufang! The stepmother who tried to be nice, got rejected, and still protected Lin Ruochu when it mattered? In the past life, Lin Ruochu believed rumors that Zhang Xiufang's son was illegitimate and treated her with absolute disgust. Now she knows the truth. The guilt she must be carrying is enormous. The romantic tension with Lu Yichen is interesting too—not in a good way. Lin Ruochu's disgust when she looks at him now, after knowing everything he did, is so satisfying to read. She used to shield him, now she's shielding Lin Zhiyuan instead. That role reversal is everything.
Okay so let me just say this: Chu Yiran is the most strategically paranoid person I have ever encountered in a novel and I am HERE for it. The way she calculates everything—like, she literally studies the auditorium floor plan for THREE DAYS before the meeting. She's drawing circles on paper labeling seats as "Safe." This is not someone who winging it, this is someone who has a contingency plan for her contingency plans. But what really got me is the pen. Oh my god, the pen. She finds Shen Yu's pen after the meeting, and instead of returning it, she just... hides it in her drawer. Like a little treasure she's too scared to touch but also too scared to throw away. And then Lin Yuan brings it back because the lost-and-found won't take it, and Chu Yiran just stares at it like it's a live grenade. "That pen could stay in her drawer until the end of time." I literally laughed out loud. That is such a Chu Yiran move—she doesn't want to return it because that means interacting with Shen Yu, but she also can't throw it away because... why? I don't know, it's HIS pen. It's evidence. It's a connection she doesn't want but can't sever. And Shen Yu? The man noticed her. Not her face, not her name, but her. He looked at her from the first row while she was refilling that kettle, and the text says his gaze "swept briefly in her direction." That's it. That's all. But for Chu Yiran, that one glance is enough to make her spend the entire afternoon in a state of high alert. Their dynamic is this incredible push-pull where she's trying to disappear and he's just... existing, and somehow his mere presence is the most threatening thing in the room. The original owner's relationship with him is also fascinating. She's texting him sweet nothings using lines she Googled, and he's catching every inconsistency like a hawk. "You never used to watch movies." BRO. He knows her better than she knows herself, and that's terrifying because she's literally impersonating this person.
Author's review- Hidden in Plain Sight is a breathtaking tale of love, sacrifice. This novel masterfully weaves together the lives of two seemingly opposite individuals—Evie Lane, a struggling artist burdened by the weight of her family’s survival, and Alexander Grant, a cold and enigmatic billionaire CEO with a past shrouded in secrets.
An intense thriller with a fascinating anti-hero and a suspenseful plot. Impossible to put down once you start!??
The world-building in this novel is outstanding! It’s a thrilling adventure into the world of hackers, power struggles, and redemption. The pacing is perfect, and every chapter builds anticipation. Absolutely one of the best stories in its genre!

Cukup membuat penasaran. Ceritanya lumayan bagus. Sayangnya terlalu banyak bab yang bertele-tele. Mestinya beberapa bab saja, kemudian mulai bab yang seru dan menegangkan.
This story is another one of my works, this is my personal opinion about it, it is good story wise and I'll expand it in the future till then expect more from this new story, that's all.
