The opening scene had me genuinely worried—Han Yue being dragged to the Civil Affairs Bureau, the children watching, Wang Shihao's cold threats about never letting them see her again. That's real stakes. But then something shifted. When she called the police and stood up to them, the conflict changed shape. It wasn't just about surviving anymore; it was about fighting back. And the moment she pulled out that Tang sword and started cutting through doors and chains? That's when I realized the power dynamic had completely flipped. The mother-in-law saying 'I feel uneasy' is the story telling us directly that Han Yue has become dangerous. Not dangerous in a scary way, but dangerous in the way that oppressed people become dangerous when they stop accepting their oppression. The scene with Sister Liu's food getting thrown on the ground? That raised the stakes again—now it's not just about legal divorce, it's about survival, about whether Han Yue and her kids will even have food. The author keeps pulling the rug out from under us, making us worry, then giving us that cathartic release. That's why I couldn't put this down.

The author didn't just say "she healed him"—they gave us the specific technique, the specific points, the whole process. It made me feel like I was watching a surgery. And the reaction shots! The crowd going from skeptical to amazed: "So young and already so skilled. We really underestimated her." This is such a satisfying power fantasy moment, but it's earned. Zhiyi isn't just lucky—she trained under her grandfather and mother, she has real skills. What got me though was the contrast between how people treated her on the train versus how she carried herself. They questioned her because she was young and a girl. She didn't flinch. She just said "It's up to you whether you trust me or not" and went to work. That confidence, that quiet competence—it's so attractive as a character trait. And then the old man calling her "little comrade" with genuine gratitude? I literally smiled at my phone like an idiot.
This book is AMAZING!!, read it in a day. Could not put it down. start to finish. ...️...
