Okay so I need to just talk about this Chu Wanning reveal because honestly my jaw was on the floor. The author sets this up SO perfectly. First you get all these rumors floating around—Wen Ting told Wen Zhiyu that Pei Yan left on their wedding day because his white moonlight had appendicitis. Then you see Chu Wanning literally walk into the office wearing earrings that match Wen Zhiyu's necklace, casually dropping that Pei Yan traveled to Haicheng twice for her. The irony is just... brutal. Wen Zhiyu had just admired how Pei Yan bought her necklace "on a whim" that morning, and then realizes it was literally the day after he bought gifts for someone else. The plot twist here isn't even a big shock—it's the slow realization that everything Wen Zhiyu thought she knew was built on lies. And the best part? Chu Wanning herself ADVERTISED the rumor. She fabricated it to boost her company's bargaining power and then wore it like a badge of honor. The author is playing 4D chess with information here—we know more than Wen Zhiyu does in some scenes, which makes every interaction between them absolutely agonizing to read.
