This book is obsessed with the dowry list and I think that's the point. On the surface, it's just property — farmlands, estates, jewelry, headpieces. But the dowry represents so much more. It's the mother's legacy, the only thing standing between Song Zhimian and total destruction. It's also a symbol of the legal system in this world — Madame Ding literally says, "The laws of Dayu stipulate that a husband's family cannot privately seize a married woman's dowry." The law exists, but it's only as strong as the woman who can enforce it. And right now, Song Zhimian has no power to enforce anything. The dowry list is also tied to the aunt's promise — "I will definitely check every single item against this list." Two women, separated by death and distance, both fighting for the same girl's future through the same piece of paper. And then there's the deeper symbolism: the dowry is what makes Song Zhimian valuable in this world. Not her beauty, not her status as legitimate daughter, but the material wealth her mother left her. Her father sells her to a widower. Her stepmother plots to steal her inheritance. Her sister covets what she cannot have. She is, in every sense, a commodity. But the moment Song Zhimian decides she'd rather destroy the dowry than let them have it — that's the moment the symbolism flips. The dowry becomes her weapon instead of her cage. "She would rather destroy it than let that ungrateful father and his insane family have a single cent." That line changed everything for me.
Hi im not gonna spoil. Just want to say, this is an AMAZING novel! The author Lynne-sama is a good writter and im looking forward to read more of the novel! :))))))))))))
???????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
I haven't read the book but please, if you're going to focus on romance there has to be some r-18 elements
Hey everyone! Author here!... or sort of a reader to my story as well ~Just wanted to write something different. Please give your opinions! Or any questions! Here to read them all ~~( as I said I am a reader )
I like this story but the author has a 40 chapter paywall when he at most provides 16 chapters a month. this means that if you are essentially paying for 40 chapters and only getting 16 after the first month.save your money and go with an author that can at least meet their privilege wall with the number of uploads they make a month or you will just be throwing your money away after the first month!
Let me drop an initial review. I accompanied the author in the first 17 chapters since the new year. The writing quality is superb, the visual imagery vivid. Like in the hanging bridge, I could feel the thrill and the fear. This book is worth your time. I hope author would release more chapters daily as I can't wait for more.
Overall I actually really like revenge novels they are intriguing ? I think I'm really going to like this one so I'll keep reading it is very interesting and I hope the author continues to update us as soon as possible
Like a mix between a typical Isekai and a Shadow-Slave-like. The mc is the great savior with a harem, but the world is extremely hostile and horrifying. As of chapter 40~ the story has been moving at a break-neck pace with hardly any time to breathe, but it’s stimulating. I think the story and setting have a lot of potential.Everything seems hopeless except for a few bright stars who are just too stubborn to give up. And the mc is cursed to the nines. It kind of reminds me of “Stop! Friendly Fire!” If you’ve ever read that.
hey this book not bad at all you guys should try it ?
