Great book. Unfortunately it moves to a different book and then back again causing to pay for it twice and updates come only once a month. Good writer just needs to actually commit to readers and write. My recommendation is just wrap up storyline and be done.
I’ve loved this so much. Came on holiday last Sunday and have been searching for good story to sink my teeth into. This has absolutely been that. I haven’t been able to put it down. Can’t wait to see how it ends.

Okay, let me just say it straight: this plot is a masterclass in layered betrayal and the missing key is the single most important object in the entire narrative. Think about it. Lin Ni steals a key. That's it. That's the inciting incident for everything that follows. But the brilliance is in how the author makes us question who gave her that key. Is it Yang Wen? Is it someone else? The suspicion lands squarely on him, and that's where the real tension lives. When Lin Zhaoyang demands his keys and finds the house key missing, the reader's heart stops. Yang Wen's panic is palpable. His excuse—that he left it at home—is so thin you could read through it. And yet, the author doesn't confirm whether he's lying or telling the truth. That ambiguity is deliberate and delicious. The subplot with Zou Zhengting is equally compelling. He's this terrifying, predatory figure who also happens to be the only person Lin Zhaoyang can trust in the moment. Their dynamic is electric and uncomfortable in the best way. The drugged water scene, the fan he brings, the way he watches her with “greed written plainly in his eyes”—it's all so charged. And then there's Lin Ni's backstory, revealed through Lin Zhaoyang's memories of the previous life. The revenge Zou Zhengting took on Lin Ni's family, the ruined careers, the broken marriages, the isolation—it paints a picture of a world where one powerful man can destroy an entire family. The plot threads are tightly woven. Every revelation connects back to the central question: who is playing whom? And the answer, apparently, is everyone.
