I am not okay with how well-written Zhang Aiyuan's dialogue is because this woman is the most insidious type of antagonist and I respect it. Let me just drop some quotes on you: 'Here, Dabao, eat more. Look at you—there's hardly any flesh on your bones.' Translation: I'm publicly criticizing your mother's cooking and your grandmother's parenting while pretending to care about the child. Then later: 'Mom, you can't be so biased all the time, can you? Dabao is your eldest grandson. If there's anything good, shouldn't he get it first?' SIS. The audacity. The sheer, unadulterated audacity. She says this at the dinner table, in front of everyone, after her mother-in-law just gave Su Meier extra greens. And Su Meier's internal reaction? 'A huge question mark immediately appeared in Su Meier's mind. Sturdy? Was she sturdy? She was curvy, thank you very much!' I CRIED. The fact that Su Meier completely missed the hostility and just got offended on behalf of her own body type is peak comedy. But the best part is how every character has a distinct voice. Su Mingding's loud, boisterous energy — 'Looks like Little Sister finally came out today!' — versus Father Su's clipped, economical speech. Even Mother Liang has her own rhythm: 'That child. I wonder who he takes after.' Three words and you know exactly who she's talking about and how she feels. The dialogue never feels like everyone's just explaining the plot. It's snappy, layered, and full of subtext. Zhang Aiyuan never says 'I hate my mother-in-law' — she says 'Can't you keep your mouth shut during a meal?' and the reader knows EXACTLY what's happening.

Writing this as of release on 08th of Jan. Will update with time:Auxiliary chapter helped describe the world - I was hooked there already. Solid world building is a bit of a weakness of mine.. Little awkward beginning but during the first chapter I eased in already and then figured.. I gotta wait until whenever the next chap releases. Authors english is very high class, too - hope this meets the right audience! PS: IF ANNE AND DARON DONT END UP MAREYING I WILL GIVE 1*

I really like the Charakters and the Story this far (read until chapter 55).Definetly a recommendation, if you like FL who stands up for herself (and her loved ones) after her suffering but without the "destroy everything"-attitude and "faceslappingdrama" of some other stories and a ML who loves her dearly and tries everything so that she ist happy after a hard time in their lives. and I really like that they talk about stuff, so they don't have to much big misunderstandings while they respekt, support and care for each other.To the author: thanks for this new nice, heartwarming couple and their story, I will continue to ready more ?
