A wonderful book. The story progression is steady and consistent. The character development is astonishing, and the world building is fair.

Honestly po, di ako mahilig sa action but your story intrigued me! It's pulling me like a magnet ❤ Ang ganda po.
Okay so I need to talk about this twist because HOLY. The fake pregnancy thing? I did NOT see that coming. Like, we're all just sitting there thinking Su Ying is this poor victim whose baby got stolen by Lin Weiwei, right? And then—BAM—the doctor comes out and drops the bomb that she was NEVER pregnant. The whole miscarriage was staged. I literally gasped out loud reading that part. And it gets better. Su Ying didn't just fake it for attention—she weaponized it. She let Gu Huaiyuan believe Lin Weiwei was responsible for the lost child, turned him against his own mistress, and basically became the puppet master behind the murder without ever getting her hands dirty. That is some next-level manipulation. The author really said 'let's make the victim the real villain' and I am HERE for it. But here's what really made the plot click into place: Gu Huaiyuan's infertility. Su Ying knew this the whole time and protected him by faking pregnancies, and he had no idea. The irony is absolutely brutal—he called her a 'barren hen' while she was the one carrying the secret that would've destroyed him. That detail alone makes the whole tragedy so much more devastating. It's not just betrayal; it's mutual destruction built on lies both people told to protect each other, and then the other person burned it all down. The plot also weaves in this subplot with Wen Qingli and Su Yue at the mall that feels almost comedic compared to the heavy interrogation scenes, but it serves a purpose—it shows Wen Qingli growing into herself. She's not the crying high school girl anymore. The narrative is layering multiple storylines that all feed into the central theme: people destroying what they love because they don't know how to process pain.
I can't.... I need to wait till this book complete and read it in one go.
