The first time I read the synopsis, I was immediately attracted to this novel. Personally, I'm not too interested in the other series because of the concept of the system and also the character development which is quite emotional. but I see a new light in this novel. I hope this novel will be better than the previous series.
Lol....This story feels like a melodramatic drama where you can easily predict future instances, not innovative indeed...I feel the MC is a little retarded where he's taking the truth in amusement while her disciple keep on using dildo and vibrators for her sexual gratification...She seems to trodding on hentai path without MC's knowledge..(then what's your use since I can only see MC just indulging in sexual acts)Apart from that I don't know whether MC gonna have any breakthroughs or just playing nanny to those disciples cause whole idea was to recruit potential candidates who can reach immortality and guide them while aiming for higher breakthroughs, but here he's just playing around the mortality crap while being an immortal till now and untill now character growth is worst for me...
When i read reviews i thought this novel was actually really bad, and with insane racism and nationalism.then when i actually decided to read it, it's actually a pretty good novel. i enjoyed it enough to read about 250 chapters ahead in the raws.well in any case there's like 2 sentences that are problematic according to readers. they are in chapter 3 and in all honesty i just dont give a ****.people are way too thinskinned about that stuff.if you have exeggerated feelings of self importance, or anything even closely related to racism/nationalism makes you froth at the mouth, just dont bother reading it or start from chapter 4. well the forging book in trial read got picked, so i hope this one gets picked aswell.P.S: not writing a real review, i liked it enough to share my thoughts and give it a decent score to balance the 1star reviews. it deserves better imo.
This is a slow starting novel where author likes to introduce you to the world similar to novels like Record of a Mortal's Journey to immortality. As such, if you're looking for a standard fast paced typical xuanhuan then this is not it.That being said, this is a CRAFTING novel, more specifically a blacksmith crafting novel. MC gains a system where he can easily upgrade his smithed items with attributes. However, he doesn't abuse the system and instead learns how to craft without the system whilst learning many new blacksmith techniques e.g. Adding gems slots, making set items etc. The whole crafting process is very in depth and highly satisfying for crafting fanatics. A little similar to Upgrade Specialist in Another World, this novel although a Xuanhuan, has a more classical Xianxia setting and the crafting system is more fleshed out.The downside so far is its pretty crafting intense (approx 50%) so novel can feel VERY SLOW. The author has introduced a few different blacksmith type arcs (tests, new items) but there's very little drama or excitement which can make the novel a bit dull. The cultivation side is a bit more standard, he gets a "devouring" attribute which he puts on weapons to help him grow faster.Romance starts after a few hundred chapters and then stops for a long while - generally there isn't much. The MC is very cautious and calm, similar to Han Li (RMJI) and is very mature for his age (15). The cultivation progress is slow (in terms of chapters) but fast in terms of age. However, the balance isn't as good as RMJI because levels are split into 5 (which is too many) and so to keep the pacing the author has the MC 'skip' many levels at a time and he can constantly jump 1-2 large boundaries to fight. As such you can't feel the impact of a specific level. This is all confounded by the author not having a clear power structure that you don't really know how strong MC is (he was very strong in first few hundred chapters but because crafting chapters occupy bulk of novel it's unclear how strong MC is later on).The translation quality is great with very few grammar errors while the updates are regular. If you're looking for a more in depth blacksmith novel with an emphasis on crafting then give this novel a read. Translation should be done in 18 months at current rate.I dropped a star from initial 5 star to 4 star as although the crafting is great, author has got the balance wrong (too much crafting and not enough cultivation, drama, fighting etc) so novel can feel dry and difficult to continue reading at times.Update: I've currently taken a break from this novel with <300 chapters to go. One big gripe is he spends half the novel at the same cultivation boundary - because author writes long slow paced crafting arcs and then adds even more crafting e.g. Alchemy and formations, the cultivation time has to take a back seat. These newer crafts feel rushed as he quickly gets to the same level as his blacksmithing without the hard graft we've seen before so it all feels a bit cheap. The kicker is, after waiting for so long for him to gain the next cultivation level he starts getting fast power ups again. It all feels like lazy writing and you wonder why author didn't have a better pacing to the novel. It's not a bad read but if you're reading this as just a xuanhuan then the cultivation side is very dry and slow that I'd probably skip the novel. Read only if you really like crafting and don't mind slower, longer chapters.
The foundation for this story is incredibly weak. It’s supposed to be a sci-fi world, but none of these elements are focused on. It’s written like it’s modern-day instead with weird sci-fi gates thrown into the mix. The MC is supposed to be in a planet larger than Earth, but no explanation about the gravity or geography are given. It’s briefly mentioned that people had to move underground, but then this idea has yet to be mentioned again. Why didn’t they try to block the portals? Why didn’t they move off the planet? What other strategies have been used aside from fighting against the monsters like barbarians? If a single beast card is worth so much money but this world isn’t as dangerous as it’s made out to be, then why hasn’t the economy collapsed? Given how easy it appears, becoming a billionaire is an easy dream. The info about beast cards comes in an info dump in the first chapter, but it has numerous plot holes and unanswered questions. Furthermore, it never explains the meaning of the stats the MC sees for each beast.Characterization is weak. The MC is an insensible jerk who throws caution to the wind and lives by luck alone. No explanations are given about why the wild beasts only attack his beasts and never attack him, even though he’s clearly weaker. No depth is given to him or any other characters. He doesn’t show any gratitude and even attacks a beast that saved him, giving me no reason to feel any respect for his shallow personality. He isn’t even slightly likeable. The cool chick the MC disdains is likeable, even if she's clingy, but he's not very nice to her. This series is inconsistent with far more weaknesses than strengths. It’s written like a bad imitation of certain other series, but it doesn’t string together the logic or plot hardly at all. Not recommended.
Overall good book but I am a little dissatisfied with how slow the cultivation for the MC is. 220 chapters in and he's only at the mid stage of the second lowest realm
I hope this gets picked Looks a lot better then that last novel ‘The Entire Mankind is Acting As Me, I Shall Secretly Build a Battleship and Shock the World’
A great book probably not going to be selected though. I would really appreciate it if someone can send me link to the MTL or raws. Thank you and God bless.
I mean while being a monk is going to be a creative setting, I would prefer it if it was a more action packed novel, I don't object to this alot, but it's just not my styleThough if the story is really good I'll up my vote/commentI just hope it's not slow paced
