It was a good read. That ending tho(the ending is good but I'm thirsty) , deym you author.
Author or translator... how come old man ying degraded down to martial king? he's supposed to be martial emperor when he came to the Cheng's and he got a breakthrough afterwards?????? Well, I am just wondering because it really confused us, your readers...
This novel is much more sophisticated and have cliche touch of imperial era and fantasy work
all in all, it looks like a well written book ngl! the author looks like he has standard knowledge of demonology which was one of the things I used to read on a lot back in the days. I think the book has potential to do good, maybe even the next hazbin hotel XD if it keeps the slice of life flow that the theme of the contest requires. can't wait to read more from the author, but I'll probably wait a bit and see how many chapters pile up. I'm not biggest fan of non Xianxia works but if something like this can grab my attention completely, then I'm sure a normal reader will eat this up completely.
stop wasting time reading this and go read the book!

There's no spoiler here.
First, i've read the raw and kept up with the newest chapter in China, so I can honestly tell you my feelings about it.
This novel is the best i've ever read on Qidian since the day my friend recommend the site(to help me learn Chinese). It's nothing similar to those trash out there which only include some boring stereotypes about the MC keeping "zhuangbi" and facesmacking. This novel really builds a world, you can easily see this, as you keep reading and moving forward with our MC, the world unfolding itself before your eyes. Steampunk, Cthulhu, Victorian era style, SCP...These tags are just tags, they can't describe the true spirit of the novel. The author creates this world based upon these ideas, but there's definitely not only these ideas. It has more. As to what it holds, it awaits you to find out.
Due to this author's excellent character portrait, you as a reader will get a feeling as if these characters were real: they really live in that world. It's not fake; at least the author won't let you feel so. I found what I felt when I was still a boy reading the hobbit and the lord of ring. I mean I'm not comparing this novel to J.R.R.Tolkien's great masterpiece. It's just that me as a stupid reader who didn't like reading before at all got this stupid feeling, never mind it if you don't like my words. I won't eat them anyway.
i have good expectations but author perfectly destroyed it . power system is damaged in this novel . your brain will blow up every chapter you read until you stop thinking or reading . i choosed second option
it's it just me or are most of the new webnovels trash about being lazy but still progressing what happened to the ji Ning and linley who struggled with out op chat system or AI
I like the story... It was interesting to the point that I'm looking forward to it... I was wondering who will be the man who will catch her attention and will find her interesting....
Writing quality: deteriorates. It started out okay but got worse as time went on, almost like the author stopped caring or fired his editor or something.
Updating stability: good. I dropped this, so I don’t know if it stayed good, but at least it started out that way.
Story development: scattershot and ruined. The premise of the story was very interesting at first, but it stopped being interesting when the author decided to have a time skip instead of developing the story he had already started working on. Now, keep in mind that it’s the *worst* kind of time skip - the kind where important things happen during the skip, but the author doesn’t bother informing you of them. The MC even gained and, I assume, lost love interests during the skip. It was jarring and ruined any bit of enjoyment I still got out of this because of its abruptness.
Character design: horrible. In the beginning, the side characters only exist to worship at the altar of the MC. After the time skip, it seems like the characters only exist to annoy him. There’s no real in between.
World background: bland and wrong. The author has no clue how westerners act, yet set his novel in the west. Further compounding that is that he sets it in the world of the uber rich, but doesn’t seem to know how to write rich lifestyles beyond “whatever’s the most expensive is the best.” All that’s missing are the common tropes: KTVs, car racing, and restaurants with private rooms. The author already refers to people as “Mr. Firstname” so I fully expect by now that more of the other tropes have shown up.
Overall: this started out promising but got real bad real quick in every aspect. Don’t waste your time on it.
