I need to talk about how the stakes escalate in these chapters because honestly the author is a monster (not like the Golden Retriever, but you know what I mean). It starts with a battle that's already out of control — mutated dogs vs. monsters, both sides taking heavy losses. Then Feng Moxi's group gets discovered and suddenly they're surrounded. The defensive line holds for a bit, but then Shi Jin gets bitten. And that's the moment everything pivots. The bodyguards were holding the line, Wan Yong's group was relatively safe behind the building corner, and then one split-second of lost focus and the whole formation collapses. What I love is how the author makes you feel the tactical desperation. Feng Moxi watching Chaoyang and Sima Yue restrain the Golden Retriever but not defeat it — she's calculating, watching, waiting. When she finally says "Let's make a deal," it's not bravery. It's the only move left on the board. And then the chase sequence — she's sprinting through ruined houses, monsters emerging from between them, the Golden Retriever relentless behind her. She reaches the fitness area clearing and suddenly there are MORE monsters. Of course there are. The author keeps taking away her advantages. But then — the broken sword appears. And everything changes. "The blade let out a low metallic hum filled with overwhelming pressure." This is the moment the stakes flip from "will she survive" to "what is she actually capable of?" The Golden Retriever, which had been completely dominating, suddenly feels danger. Its fur tensed, it crouched low, ready to pounce or flee. The fight that follows is brutal. A claw gets severed. The beast tries to run. Feng Moxi leaps into the air and brings the sword down. The skull bursts. The crystal core rolls out. Level Two. Just as she expected. But the real stakes aren't about the dog. They're about what happens when she returns to find those two corpses, the man still embracing the woman, and that oppressive silence. The monsters outside are one threat. The silence inside the apartment is another. And I have a feeling the breathing she hears at the end is neither monster nor corpse.
A book has great potential. But some parts feel stiff.And pacing is good but it could be better, Other than that the world building is amazing.The characters are developed well, the party was flesh out just in 5 chapters.

So I’ve read just up to 6-7 chap and it has an exciting premise with strong worldbuilding and thought-provoking themes. I believe with further refinement in pacing and character depth, it has the potential to be a gripping dystopian sci-fi thriller.?❤️

Look, I like the story a lot, and I plan to read it all. However, it feels like I’m in the story irl with ADHD because this motherfuckin MC goes on tangents SO frequently that I’m being driven insane.The amount of tangents that went on between fighting his first slime and writing his post makes me feel like the MC needs adderal immediately.
I shall gladly indulge in this book. Seems to be a bit more serious than your other books. With more plot focus than the 'plot'. Keep up the amazing work.
