I'll give credit for a slightly diffrent approach to the ending but this is early a knock off of "The Alpha kings hated slave" by Adira Daisy. know authors get inspiration from other stories but their are so many direct copies from that story. if interested other story is MUCH longer and detailed.

It's so quiet and restrained that it hits harder. She loved her Senior Brother. She reached the Nascent Soul stage because she thought that would make her worthy of him. And what did she find when she finally got there? He'd entered a Daoist companion covenant with the Junior Sister she detested most. Not just that—he didn't even protest. The text says it so casually: 'Clearly, he held some measure of affection for that Junior Sister.' That's it. That's the knife twist. And then she dies. Not in some grand heroic moment for love, but to repay a debt of gratitude to her clan. Her final wish? Her heart was 'unruffled.' She faced death in peace. The only person who ever made her heart race was the one who never chose her. But here's what got me—the transition. She goes from this devastating flashback of loss and regret, and then she looks outside and sees 'birds singing and flowers fragrant' and decides, right then, that she will live for herself this time. No more running. No more obsession. The emotional arc from 'I died for someone who didn't choose me' to 'I will only live for myself' is one of the most satisfying pivots I've read in this genre. It doesn't feel unearned because we saw her suffer. We saw her face death and still have regrets. And now she's choosing to let go. Also can we talk about how the text handles her feelings without making them pathetic? She's a Nascent Soul cultivator, someone who faced demons and death, and her heartbreak is treated with the same weight as any battle she's fought. That matters.
It’s a good story. Though I’m not satisfied with the ending. And sometimes their age in the story is quite confusing.
