There's this one image that just won't leave my head. Li Tong comes out of the Small World after her shower, walks into the living room, takes out breakfast, and starts eating while secretly pricking up her ears to listen to the commotion outside. Just... having breakfast. Like this is normal. Like a dozen armed mercenaries aren't hovering outside their door. The worldbuilding here is so quietly brilliant because the author never stops to explain the apocalypse. We don't get a lecture about what happened, how society collapsed, or the history of the Ghost Guild. We just get the reality: order has completely collapsed, people are armed and desperate, and four brothers are trying to protect their little sister in whatever fragile normalcy they can maintain. "Look at the world outside. Order has completely collapsed. The more people there are, the safer we'll be." That line from the mercenaries tells us everything we need to know about the state of the world. No governments. No rules. Just survival. The Small World itself is such an interesting element—a private space that can only hold twelve hours of use. It's not an absolute shelter. It has limits. It has weaknesses. That limitation creates so much narrative tension without the author having to describe a single monster or battle. And the domestic scenes! The brothers sitting around the table with no appetite, looking at their sister. Nan Qi carrying her back to the bedroom. The contrast between this intimate, almost cozy family moment and the armed confrontation outside their door is chef's kiss. The author makes the ordinary feel precious precisely because the world outside has lost all ordinariness.
I need to talk about Xia Chang'an because this character is genuinely hilarious and I think he might be my favorite in the entire book so far. The dialogue in this section is sharp and each character has a distinct voice, which is rare. Grandmother Xia has that high-pitched, performative sweetness—'Dear granddaughter, don't worry about me. I'm just relieved to see you safe and sound. Now I can finally sleep peacefully tonight.' But then she's also the same woman who's criticizing her daughter-in-law for not contributing enough while simultaneously being manipulated into pushing marriage arrangements. Xia Baozhu's internal voice is the real star though. She's got this dry, modern, slightly sarcastic tone that comes through even in translation. When she discovers there's no system, no space, no golden finger: 'To send her through time travel without giving her a Jinshouzhi! How ruthless! Time travel is one thing, but at least provide the supporting facilities! Truly fitting for a Paohui Nüpei in a Zhongmawen... Her hotpot, her barbecue, her house, her car, her bank account balance—all had left her in such a dramatic way.' This is comedy gold. A woman who transmigrated and her first concern is that the universe didn't even give her a inventory space. And Xia Chang'an! 'What can I do? My wife has a soft heart. You'd better go now. Your dear granddaughter needs to sleep. Take care on your way back—don't trip!' The casual cruelty wrapped in fake concern. He's not even angry about being called bewitched by a temptress—he just leisurely crosses his legs and sways them. This is a man who has fully accepted his role as the family disappointment and is thriving in it. The narrative voice itself is this perfect blend of wry observation and genuine warmth. Xia Baozhu can be brutally honest ('What a level of filial piety and devotion!') one sentence and then genuinely tender the next when she's thinking about the original host's suffering. The author's voice shapes the reading experience in a way that makes this feel less like a generic transmigration novel and more like a character study wrapped in historical fiction.
I simply think that the dark world, the unique abilities called the Legoes, and the concept of the aura that is not clear but seems special, they are all considered half and the other half is the characters. Guys, this work has legendary, wonderful, and manipulative characters.

Looking to be another great book from Yolohy! His summoning ability is certainly op so I like how the biggest challenge he has is navigating this world he knows nothing about, unlike so many novels where the mc just 'downloads' the information, Ethan is truly a fish out of water! love the writing, can't wait for more!

wow! This book had me captured. Honestly , I was initially a little doubtful about the little number of chapters . But then realized this is actually a new author. Then I decided to actually read the first chapter which led me to continue seriously ,this book needs support. I'm actually happy about the the number of words written in each character. Hahaha. This author is not lazy at all . I really recommend this new book. the author is new so... let's be a bit patient with this updates. I strongly believe the writer is really going to be great !
