For now, Very original and interesting engrossing. I skimmed through the prologue, but the chapters after that were extremly engaging.
I've started to judge novels simply based on the original country setting. Xia, zhou, etc are all repeated settings without the slightest bit of anything a good novel needs and 99% the novels written by such authors are hot trash.

Great story overall similar to other works done by this author it’s an interesting take on what the future goes bad for a bit then goes into a higher tech era I would highly recommend at least trying this story if you like more science fiction story’s if you like this story take a look at his others you will find similar quality
it's really good, the storyline and especially for the unexpected event on how Jane turned. The title is really interesting and kudos to you for that, I think the title makes the people interested in reading your story. The chapters may be short but it's really good, I'm really into a horror story and you're really good. I'm definitely adding to my library. You have so much potential, Keep writing author!

The creatures and classes in Black Magus are both loosely inspired by D&D but have been altered by me to make something unique. In all, I have twelve sagas/seasons/volumes outlined. Currently on Vol 3, 3rd Arc.
The MC, Amun, is a half-drow with sorcerery that's loosely based off sung jin-woo's ability from SL. And while he is a necromancer, Amun will have a focus on cursing and making deals with souls like the devil he is.
The story starts slow, not really kicking off until after the academy. But once Amun graduates, the story will quickly pick up speed.
Things you won't read about: Harems. XP to level up. Hard stats. Skill points. A dumb mc. People who do things just because. Mary Sue's/Gary Stu's.
Things you will read about: War. Intrigue/Espionage. History. Kingdom building. Exploration. Cults. Relgions. Transformations/Evolutions. Science/Inventing. A small bit of romance. Turning into a 'villain.' Drugs.
By far the best book on this platform. Remember to read the prologue otherwise you won’t understand who Carl or Chris or Ezio are. A great plus of this story is that there are no gratuitous good guys or bad guys, with one exception. The characters deemed to be protectors, guardians, are often passive in front of evil bacause they deem it necessary. Likewise, «evil» characters are not defined by their crimes and have believable motives and dreams that actually could change the world for the best. The main character also frequently does good for the wrong reasons.There is a love square, but the mc doesn’t allow himself to be tortured by it. He is able to resist the seduction of his love interests, especially when he thinks that love might be immature, that it might exist for the wrong reasons.
TLDR; Overall the novel fools you into reading meaningless back to back battles for 90% of the novel. So many filler battlesMy new review after finishing reading this novel. Here's the setting of the story as how I can infer it cause the author doesn't talk in exhaustive detail. Basically the ancient Chinese cultivators from Earth with their techniques and tech conquer the Milky Way Galaxy millennia before the story takes place with every human despite millennia of separation all(about 99%) share Chinese names as if China conquered Earth cleansing all other ethnicities for one ethnicity. Most named characters have a personality and the progression of the MC is satisfying. But after finishing reading this I can say about 90% of the novel is just the MC participating in Tournaments and anything outside of that like "Wars
