Highest quality translation I've ever seen on a novel, and as a bonus this novel rocks. Also one of the best, and every other novel listed by thestatsguy are awesome, so that proves that the author is very talented. Please, QI don't **** this up, make this premium whenever you want, but please give me 14ch/week at the very least.I'm so torn between reading this here or mtling it. On one hand, it has superb translation quality for now, on the other hand my patience is limited =(
Retarded mc, slavery system, petty character's ????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
Nice book!!!
I need to talk about how the author built tension in these chapters because WOW. Chapter 14 starts with Jiang Zhaoxue arriving at the accounting office at night. It's quiet, almost calm. She asks politely for the treasury. Steward Ge says no. She says "kick the door open." And just like that—BOOM. The pace shifts from slow burn to full sprint. There's no in-between. She doesn't negotiate, she doesn't threaten politely. She just... takes it. Then Dowager Consort Meng arrives and for a second I thought the tension would ease—like, okay, now there'll be words exchanged, maybe some passive-aggressive back-and-forth. But no. The author kept cranking it up. Every line Jiang Zhaoxue said was a little sharper, a little more dangerous. "If the Dowager Consort does not [preserve dignity], then tonight, in front of everyone, we can open the treasury doors and slowly go through the accounts." That line was a threat wrapped in a smile, and I could feel the temperature in the room dropping. And then Chapter 5—"Killing One to Warn the Rest"—the title alone sets the tone. The scene where she gathers all the servants and opens those gold boxes? The pacing here is PERFECT. She lets the gold dazzle them first, lets them see the money, lets Granny Cui think "that was hardly asking for it back, it was clearly robbery"—and THEN she drops the death threat. The contrast between the glittering gold and "I guarantee you won't even know how you died" is so well-timed. The chapter ends with servants fleeing one by one, and it just... cuts off mid-action. No resolution, no neat bow. Just chaos and movement. I immediately wanted to read the next chapter.
amazing story, the spacing is a little off nd just needs a little editing, except from that, the book is great

Good read! Trigger warning for abuse and sexual assault..some parts were very difficult to read, but overall the book was good.
3306 chapters? Flipping crazy! That's 15-20 books worth. Definitely an author trying to drain us of $$.
