Found this book on scribblehub and was surprised to see it also here. This is probably one of the best stories out here and a goated series for me. iI'mstill kinda mad I lost my account and can't get it back. this book remined me of my situation and taught me to persevere because waifu is here.my headcannon is that Miko fmc is Yae Miko from Genshin impact ?
On a pure writing quality, I can say this easily matches translated novels and even exceeds some of them. The world building is good, and the story arcs are innovative (for a xianxia). The power itself is also unique enough that I haven't seen it before.
Now the biggest problem by far that I have noticed is the pacing. We're at 400+ chapters but still technically on the first arc (1.5 maybe?). The chapters itself, around the 100 mark became crazy short. Like you could fit 2/3 of these into a normal chapter. So these 400 are the equivalent of perhaps 150 normal chapters length wise. The actual plot is probably around 100? Combined with the general slow pacing its incredibly frustrating to read, and if it weren't for the general quality, I would have dropped this a while ago. Honestly would prefer author combines chapters and reduces cliffs. Defintely a book you would need to stockpile.
That being said, this is still head and shoulders above most of the other originals, especially the drivel that are high ranked but chock full of plotholes and juvenile characters (the characterisation, not the actual age). The MC is naive but a quick learner (understandable considering his peasant background), isn't forced into idiotic actions. The general annoying xianxia cliches are minimized and characters other than the MC have more than 2 dimensions.
Overall a definitly good read compared to the others on this site, but not amazing with serious pacing/length
issues. So on this site, this is worth 5 stars, but on novelupdates and outside, probably 4. Recommend stockpiling between reads.
The mc starts of strong, pragmatic and grounded. Then he gets a fairy guide and turns into a weak, scatterbrained moron.
I liked the initial 25 or so chapters of the story, but with the complete 180 in personality and competence, it began to just grind on my nerves.
It showed in the fights of chapter 28 and 29, then with him going from a hoarder on the avarage skyrim player level in chapter to some moron at chapter 30 who doesn't want to pick up loot because he doesn't use those items... When he's carrying a back full of junk items to sell... And needing his fairy guide to point out the obvious in a ridiculing manner, I dropped It.
The way I see it, it's like two people worked on this story, the first 25 chapters or so were by a person who liked to write a competent story but lost interest.
And the second by a person who had a total thing for the usual incompetant characters who need minders to tell their left hand from their right, along with tropes and clichés.
Its like seeing a high rated Litrpg novel start, only to have some weebo wanting it into some kind of mix wuxia / harem anime hybrid.
Perhaps the story was written by copy pasting events from other novels, then having the patchwork rewritten as one thing to make it a whole, without keeping the character and his personality in mind.
That's not a bad way to write a new story, after all originality these days is just well stolen concepts applied in uncommon ways, but the loss of sight of the character's original engaging personality causing it to be exchanged for a moron with an overbearing fairy who needs to hold his hand lest he trips over his own feet is not cool.
I think I would be much more interested in the story if the MC was more consistent in his character.
Its okay. The main charscter annoys me since he uses his abuse as justification to do evil and is generally annoying.
I got it was a villain novel but I can't even rout for the MC because he's so annoying.Villain MCs are a dime a dozen. But he just annoys me.
He feels like a secondary bad guy. Meant to be hated. But no redeeming qualities

This is a good system novel, author, really great world background and character design. I feel that you put great thought into the world building and the descriptions, and I, as a reader, feel grateful for that. Love the funny dialogues and fights with Hannah. I want to read more of that.
The ML has a strong personality and I like how cool he voices his thoughts.
