"That? That's a lamp made from metal that can light up the room through a light infused mana crystal."

"Ahh..." Chinhwa directed it towards Sarang's mouth as her eyes were swollen from crying earlier, he thought it would at least cheer her up.
First off, this is not your average, everyday xianxia.Second, if you don't like 'slow' pacing (As deemed by the public due to the fact that he starts cultivation later on, despite the story itself being quite nicely paced), then I recommend that you skip this novel. (Although if you give it a try and find that the progression is indeed, not slow, but, quite fast/ moderate, you'll enjoy it quite a bit.)As a (non) English-expert, I personally have nothing to say and do not meet my self-requirements for critiquing the quality/ update stability. Also, as a (non) English-expert, I don't have any right to critique anything so... Take this for a grain of salt.Story Development: The story development, although perhaps a bit biased (Plot-armour), is beautiful. One thing that contributes to this is how the 'system' of the flower gives tasks that the MC is basically forced to do (Although in reality, the MC figures out what he should do, by which the task then becomes revealed; thus, every 'quest' is partly/ mostly his own thought). Another thing that contributes to this is how the story clearly explains every plot, plan, murder, and so forth.Character design: The MC is shown to be able to think for himself in multiple situations, having to adapt to the schemes of his enemies, make schemes of his own and so forth; It is because of this, that we gain constant insight into how his mind works, ****** the fleshing out of his personality concise.Other characters are (Of course), not as well-fleshed out as the MC; however, we still gain some insight into their personalities.World Building: The one thing that I feel (Kind~of) let the story down.Yes, the story does a fantastic job of the tip -"Show, don't tell"-; however, due to this, some details are skimmed over... It still does a fantastic job however, showing the different levels of officials, the difference in status between different levels of politicians, daoists, royalty and so forth.(To be honest, however, it was just the fact that I HAVE NO IDEA what the worth of a copper tael is :/, sure one gold tael is roughly equivalent to ten silver taels and five to seven silver taels can buy a mu of land (~614.4m^2, just imagine a square 25 by 25), but the worth of a copper tael is never explicitly stated... (Relative to silver/ gold).
This story is intriguing, I like the way the way Louis flowed as the main character. The suspense in it would keep readers engaged.
