Because your world is too small like a frog at the bottom of a well you should read more chapters and discover more human qualities, if a sudden apocalypse arrive this is more likely to happen as no one wants to get hurt and die young or they have some precious family to protect and when you still have more ideals and goals to achieve in the future and suddenly all of those ideals collapsed. Most of the people who survive most likely wont be able to accept it like religious individuals who rely and pray to god for there well being knowing a godlike existence suddenly turn their lives into chaos.

Painful read. I enjoy the story it’s just that it jumps soo much, without warning or indication of different perspectives. Like lets say plot points in a to b to c and so forth. It moves like a to c then loops back around to b to c. Story is meh in sadness it’s selflessness and self sacrifice. I am enjoying it though as above with the a to c stuff.
Spoiler. When he said that he have a good feelings towards Tang Wan's younger brother, my trust issues and paranoid self screamed. Then I remembered that Tang Wan's brother is good with commanding and combat. He is smart too. A good quality for a 'wife' and really compatible with the marshal. So what if the gong/seme was attracted with Tang Wan's brother? What if he got a liking, romantically? Eventhough he is still 16 or 17, I can't help but to think some 'posible' scenarios. :
