Though it sounds as though it would take a very long time to perform all of these steps, the blacksmith was a master of his trade, and had completely finished the process within an hour.

And then there's the Du Guosheng dinner, which I'm still processing. He Zheng thinks he's just being introduced to a director, but the text drops this line: "Last night? Wei Zhenye had attended a charity gala the previous evening—was it for his sake?" And I'm sitting there like—wait, did he go to THAT gala just to plant a seed? The plot is so deliberately constructed, every move calculated, and that's what makes it so beautiful. It's not a whirlwind romance. It's a siege. He Zheng kept hesitating, kept pulling back, and Wei Zhenye just... waited. The mother's phone call was such a perfect beat too—she says "You can date, but don't forget your work" and that's it. No drama, no rejection. Just... acceptance wrapped in practicality. Meanwhile He Zheng is over here panicking about whether his parents know, and Wei Zhenye just disconnects the Bluetooth to let him hear it. The plot doesn't rush. It breathes. And that ending with the director asking "have you given it more thought since last night?"—I'm on the edge of my seat. What is he thinking about? What did they discuss at that gala? The story is building this quiet tension like a bow being drawn, and I cannot wait to see what happens next.
