Really Nice world building and good pace on the history. I think this series deserves more attention , specially when compared worth the majority of novels out there, and will be worth your time
This is written By Overlord Venus. That alone is enough to prove that this novel is of high tier quality. But even so, I'll give my review so you will have better understanding of the novel with no spoilers.Writing Quality: As I said before, its high tier. The author described the scenes of the novel vividly to increase the immersion while keeping it not too much to prevent info dump.Story Development: From what I have read, it's one of the best post apocalypse novel out there with huge potential of becoming a top novel. The novel revolves around mc regressing back to the past with the help of a leader of a Post Apocalypse Dispatch Society.Character Design: The Author didn't let me down on this. All of the characters felt real. As if you are interacting with a real person. Their actions doesn't feel one dimensional.Updating Stability: Although there are only two chapters at the time I gave this review, the author updates frequently from his other novels so he will likely do the same to this novel.World Background: Not much is known from what I read except for it being in the same universe and timeline as the author's other novel titled I Hate Systems.Overall: A must read, a masterpiece! The author has lots of writing experience so this novel would be one of his best! I suggest you read and give it a try!
This novel just weaved in so many of my favorite genres and passions it’s kinda hard not to love it. First it is a semi historical set in like an alternate early to mid 1400s but the twist it has is that the main character has modern mechanical engineering knowledge. The novel interweaved what seems to be crusader kings, Europa universalis 4, and the isekai genre. If you decide to pick up this novel, you will see court intrigue, warfare, conquest, nation building, romance (with some “plot”), and a whole lotta guns. What I believe truly sets this novel apart however is that the main character is by no means perfect and actually adapts to the environment he finds himself in. First, he is in the gray for morality, second in introducing modern technology you won’t see machine guns or tanks versus knights, and third, he can become cocky and gets burned for it. As for adapting to the environment, our protagonist is an atheist, yet recognizes the importance of religion, he does not try to implement a modern justice system, but an extremely harsh one, as well as other things you can find out along the way. As for the other characters, they are all interesting and have at least one unique point about them and their interactions with the story.TL;DR a great novel that brings to life history in a traditional and fun way

I need to talk about Hu Lang and Hu Shen because their relationship is the emotional core of this whole passage and it destroys me every time. On the surface, he's protective. He gives her his robe when she's cold, he scolds her for not wearing enough, he whispers that he'll make sure no one bullies her. But then he hands her the wine flask. He pushes her out of the tent. He's the one who orchestrated this entire setup, and he does it with this calm, almost tender demeanor, like he's doing her a favor. 'As long as I'm here, even if it doesn't work out, it's fine.' Fine. He's sending his own sister to seduce a prisoner with aphrodisiac wine and calling it protection. What's chilling is that Hu Shen seems to understand this and still goes along with it. She says 'I'll do my best' and she actually goes. Part of me thinks she does it because she loves him—she wants to protect him, to be useful, to not be the weak Zhongyuan girl who can't survive on the grassland. But another part of me thinks she does it because she's already numb. She says she wishes she could shrink herself smaller, like a clump of wool washed away, so her existence brings no disaster to anyone. That's not someone who's making a free choice. That's someone who's already given up. And then there's Xie Xixiao. The way he looks at her—'like being watched by a pack of wolves in the dead of night'—that's not just anger, that's recognition. He knows who she is. He knows what she's doing. And yet when she tears open his robe and touches his chest, he doesn't fight her the whole time. His body betrays him, sure, but so does hers. She feels his warmth, she notices his handsomeness, she thinks about Zhuo Li's advice and decides he's warm enough. That's not just physical response, that's her own humanity breaking through the political machinery. The relationship between all three of them—Hu Shen, her brother, Xie Xixiao—is this tangled knot of obligation, betrayal, and unwanted desire. And I don't think any of them walk away clean.
