Was a decent read besides all the stupid stuff.
Now down to the bad stuff.
The whole premise is of Mc wanting to be popular, to stand out. Guess what happens once she DOES just that? We get a couple of chapters of her getting recognised, 1 "candid" picture taken, some controversy and BOOM. MC doesn't want attention anymore, she is sick of it. So yea she goes back to being invisible.
And how the **** could some1 famous possibly do that? Plastic surgery? Wearing a mask? 24/7 Disguise? NOOOO
Cut her hair shorter!!!! It's the ultimate disguise. From a school flower to some1 no1 recognises BECAUSE SHE HAS A SHORT HAIR CUT.
I'm not making this shit up. It's ridiculous how obsessed author is with long hair.
Like MC decides to turn her friend into a popular beauty to have less attention on her (yeah, basically her whole goal of standing out is out of the window, she apparently doesn't care anymore, and apparently never knew that if she was famous, she would get a lot of attention and little privacy, WHO WOULD HAVE KNOWN THAT? RIGHT?) ugh, back to the point. So guess how she manages that. Some beauty lotion. AND LONG HAIR. She made her friend grew out hair and BOOOM, WHOLE WORLD WAS SHAKEN, NEW SCHOOL FLOWER WAS BORN. No1 recognises MC by her side, every1 is drooling, masturbating, ejaculation just from the sight of her friend WITH LONG HAIR.
Then we have a shitton of chapters from the POV of Han Leng. He is always blabbing on about his love, his delusions etc etc, like who gives a shit. We got more than 50 chapters out of 380 just from his point of view. And in most of them he is thinking of MC, how she is this, how she is that.
And for the final thoughts. Author has a serious long hair fetish, I bet if there was a dog with long hair author would hump that. Like it's unreal how he makes it look. Author tries to mention how faces are all that matters, but what really matters is always the hair length. I know i'm repeating about the hair, but it's so fucking emphasised it's unreal.
Author is obsessed with China, China superiority, China this, China that. China best at everything.
Be prepared to cringe whenever the word China is in the sentence/paragraph. I used to ignore this shit "China patriotism" in other novels, but in this1 it's obnoxious. It seems like the author has been brainwashed by China regime and he actually thinks China owns the world. I barely got past this shit by skipping paragraphs whenever i stumbled upon the dreaded word of CHINA, but i still had to cringe just from what i read up to that word.
As a yuri lover and the reason why i even read this, It looks like i'm at the chapter where yuri might start being more visible but i just can't be asked to read this anymore, even though i'm sure this is where the yuri stuff starts. Yeah i'm just burned out of all this hair nonsense, han lengs pov and China "patriotism" (more like brainwashed since birth)
Initially I wanted to wait for a few more chapters before I give my review but because I want to be one of the first ten, he it is.
First things first, the writing quality is top notch, it's a top tier and a rare quality in this website. 5/5
Second, the story itself is unique and a very original one, in short it is one of the kind. 5/5
As for the characters, although for now they're still not a lot, they're all nicely written. They have their own feelings and is not a bland characters. 5/5
The updating rate is quite unstable but it is understandable because of the fact that the author is also currently writing his other novels, for now. 5/5
And lastly, the world background. Considering that this novel only has 14 chapters for now, it is doing a good job so far. The descriptions were easy to understand and imagine. 5/5

The summary is quite misleading. I thought I was going to read yet another clichéd urban cultivation story, but this is actually more of a supernatural horror story with a relatively light and comedic tone. MC is basically a spirit hunting exorcist, as his cultivation techniques are particularly effective against spirits, evil or otherwise. Spirits with quirks similar to ghosts in horror stories are the antagonists in this story, so far no mention of any spirit beasts or the like. I like how the MC is to evil spirits basically what they are to ordinary humans: their worst nightmare. Writing quality is decent, translation has some problems (mainly with gender pronouns), but I've read worse.
No romance so far, MC seems uninterested in such pursuits. He seems mildly sociopathic; he mostly acts ethically, but I get the feeling that it's more because he knows intellectually the difference between right and wrong and what is lawful or criminal, rather than it being an instinct coming from his conscience and empathy towards fellow human beings.
Anyway, in conclusion, it's a fairly amusing and entertaining read, different from the most popular cultivation story formulas. I can recommend it, particularly if you like ghost stories and supernatural mystery.
This is another slow and weak at the start progression type story. The MC gains 'entries' that have some sort of effect on his abilities. One could almost call them equivalent to gaming titles. He starts out having great difficulty going the normal/orthodox route of cultivating qi and goes the alternative route to cultivate the body. The idea is that as long as he makes his body better he will likely finally be able to improve his talents in the more orthodox route of qi cultivation.
Personally, I think this story has a great deal of potential. The sect and the world background does not seem to be quite the dog eat dog world type situation. It seems to have rules and laws that members must follow. I will hold on for the next 20 chapters to see if I can really like the story.
Honestly, it's... kinda bad. Plot conveniences everywhere. The MC has apparently been able to fuse his "descriptors" for a while, but he NEVER tries to do so until the beginning of the novel? He uses it once, then seemingly forgets about it, never mind any of his other descriptors that might also benefit from fusion. The only reason the plot moves forwards at all is because the author draped a bunch of faceslapping antagonists and bizarre system mechanics over the plot.
Sounds like a generic kill fest but I'll still try it out. Hopefully it isn't fully generic but I'll only know when it releases. If it isn't original at all then I guess I'll still read it till it goes premium unless it is worse than the author's other novel... Not sure if that's possible
NGL I'm kinda upset about all these VRMMO(?) novels popping up everywhere. The thing is... video games don't matter. So when the entire plot is just a guy playing a video game 24/7, I can't help but wonder... what exactly is the point of these novels?
Will update as I read more. Currently has a logo of potential and hope to continue to enjoy this read. Again will update with more information as I read
I love this book and the author's creative idea. The storyline flows well as it develops. Usually not a fan of this genre but I feel like this one is creative enough to engage the reader. Good job on the work. Looking forward to more updates...
