passable time waster. however, it's quite annoying that this is one of those "reincarnated former martial expert" MC that act like a kid... the way he's been acting so far, his naïvete... lets just say it would've gotten him killed if he regained his past status (royal knight, protector of the king)
I've only read the first eight chapters, but I'm already in love with your writing style! This is a must-read for anyone who likes the story from a villain's point of view! My only complaint is that you focussed too much on world building in the early chapters, rather than focusing on characters. And you definitely know how to write naughty scenes. Lol. BTW, why don't you have a cover?!

The translation is awful ,this tranlator has ruined alot of novels with poor tranlation that you can get with a simple google translate. Translator 549690339. is doing this so when good translations come out they cant really compete with this fast cookie paced poor translation
Thank god ISSTH completed before this sh***y war between QI and ww , still i am reading novels from both sites, chinese authors are great creators of imaginative world. If QI going to monopolise all the chinese novels and then putting paypal for reading novels, then i have to stop this amazing journey in chinese novels because i cant afford it. But i hope this doesn't happen.....
The author is a superb narrator that writes like a seasoned expert. The concept is original and compelling as well as the foreshadowing and the way the author paints the scene. There is no purple prose. nor is the author bland. The author isn't overly-descriptive, but they describe things from the main character's standpoint. I actually love this hidden gem and I know it will go far.

But what struck me is how Zhou Guchuan chose the color 'the world presented when I first met her.' That's not a random romantic line; it's him anchoring their entire history to a single visual moment. And Yin Lan choosing the same color based on jacaranda flowers — a color that exists between blue and purple, between two states — feels almost prophetic. Then there's the ring imagery earlier when she's watching him season the fish and thinking about what kind of ring would suit his hand. Marriage is mentioned casually but it's clearly hovering over everything. The blessing itself talks about 'bloodlines connected, souls intertwined' — this isn't just a tourist trap ceremony, it's becoming a real ritual for them. Even the foot-wiping scene has symbolic weight: he's literally cleaning away the grit of the world so she can walk cleanly forward. And the elevator mirrors — two reflections, perfectly matched, almost too close. Every scene is layering meaning beneath the surface romance.
