I just wanna say: This novel would have been very exciting and pleasant to read if only it focused more on action, adventure, and character development but, oh well, we all have our preferences. If I was younger like 14-17 years old, I think I would, from time to time, like some of the cringe humor in this book. What I like about this book:1. The translation is pretty smooth.2. The premise of the story is something to look forward to though not the first of its kindWhat I don't like in this book: 1. Some translated words are out of context. (Remember, this is a fantasy world and our MC(Jiang Xiao)25yrs old, Transmigrated to the body of Jiang Xiaopi 16yrs old. You'll get what I mean if you decide to read the novel.2. The story is too slow3. The forced humor between the interaction of the MC and his older sister is at first fun, then ok, then uninteresting, to being unbearable. Imagine having a wincest and Yuri vibe from beginning til chapter 60. Even during combat, instead of more movements and combat tactics, you'll encounter more dry cheese moments. 4. The MC feels like not an MC but a side character. Even Xia Yan and his sister feels more important as I read the novel5. MC's character is passive. More like a yes man to me. I can't feel his drive and crave for power at all6. The novel has no depth and goal. Read at your own risk.

This is an amazing story , I love the character development, and you should keep it up
It's a nice novel except I think I'm going to drop it.The power structure has bugged me a lot, everyone is put under their own power system except William, he has his own power structure, meaning it's impossible to know how strong he is on paper. I'd say if you can get over the fact that a goat is his mother, he has Stockholm syndrome, and the power structure means nothing then I'd say go read it.
even though the story is nice, there are too many fillers. i already at 800+ chapter and the timeline is only less than a month because too many needless explanation here and there, not to mention the story of each character. i tell u this is filler madness novel.
I would love to have a no ending novel. But what we can expect. There will always be an ending. I think there will be a new story that will open on the last chapter whereas turn out to be Alex knows what will happen on his future. I wish the author continue like that… Thanks for this. Worth it…!!!!
Okay, I need to talk about this one line that absolutely wrecked me: "They were all people trapped in the mud, clinging to the only piece of driftwood they could find." That's it. That's the whole book right there. Let me unpack this because the Xu Huirong / Li Shiyuan subplot is SO much deeper than it first appears. On the surface, it's just your typical stepsister rivalry — Xu Huirong hates Jiang Wanwan because she's the outsider, the one who never called her dad "Dad," the one who made the blended family feel like a patchwork mess. But then you see Li Shiyuan choosing Xu Huirong, and it flips everything. He's a genuinely good person — future Party Secretary, well-liked, smart — and he deliberately picks the girl who's toxic toward his future sister-in-law because it's "more beneficial to his situation." He's not in love. He's calculating. And he's doing it while holding a fallen branch with flowers on it, watching her blush. Meanwhile, Shen Tingjun is Jiang Wanwan's driftwood. Not because he's perfect — he's a hooligan with a crush — but because in this era, with ration coupons and scarce everything, having someone who sees you and chooses you anyway is everything. The fact that he gets flustered when she digs in his pocket? That's not anger. That's a boy who's completely smitten and has no idea how to handle it. And Jiang Wanwan? She's the one who changed the most. The original Jiang Huiwan was quiet, obedient, pitiful — a thorn in the family's side just by existing. The new one? She rolls her eyes, she flirts, she grabs chocolate and runs. She's alive in a way that person never was. The parallel between the two couples is brutal and beautiful. Li Shiyuan + Xu Huirong = practical survival. Shen Tingjun + Jiang Wanwan = something messier and real. Both are driftwood. Neither is a ship.
Fab book look forward to the next
