Before any idiots go and say this is a rip off Red Packet Server, this book was released on the 17th July 2016 and Red Packer Server came out 29th August 2016. Unless you’re an idiot, you should stop your blabbering about this being a rip off.
I love the beginning of this novel. Read it more than once as I caught up to the chapters that had been translated. The MC is what I would like to see in an MC, kind but capable. He is not murdering people and their families (though later he does a bit of the stabby stabby but it is justified well and generally done in a clever rather than just evil way). I eventually stopped when the author decided to go a bit too overboard with his terrorist plot and have heard that the harem gets a bit out of control later on too. I solidly recommend the first 450 chapters or so of this novel as they are by far the best take on this situation I have read.
Giving the first review as the shameless author of this novel. The story is like practice match for me. I will do many experiments in this story to get the feedback of the readers. So please kindly guide me and help me improve the writing quality, character design and story development in a way that can help me in the future. And please don't ignore my mistakes and also don't curse me or be angry when reading this novel.I will be making thousands of mistakes and I expect thousands of advice too. Please guide me.
Im being very lenient with the rating right now, but the story itself is funny, interesting, a bit bad, and very enjoyable. You should really continue it, I see lots of potential..........
Is this harem? I don't know yet but please I don't want it to be ?
I've read the raws via MTL and I can tell you, this is one of the best novels in Qidian. Very brutal, very dark, realistic in the sense that any fight can and will result in deaths without being curbstomps... it's a gem that needs more love. Also, a wuxia not a xianxia/xuanhuan, so be prepared for that... no eat-an-immortal-pill/cultivation-breakthrough/beat-up-enemy-sect infinite loop like you see in so many WNs.
I like it. Fun, more realistic in some ways than others, but doesn’t try to explain everything away like other books in the genre.
Don't let the bad reviews stop you from reading this awesome novel. First the r-18 comes in later. This is not a story that only focuses on getting lots of girls but giving those girls a good story with the mc. The adventure of the author from layers to layers is amazing. He even goes back to earth which is not something you see much from other novels with same genre. The characters are well written. Its not a novel where he gets a new girl in his harem every 100 chaps. He loves his fam and his scenes with them are pretty wholesome. His fam also plays a role and they are not just in the background. Claire and Logan power couple is one of the best out there. The girls in the harem are not trophies and are trying their best to get stronger. The cultivation systems are unique and might get a bit confusing as you go on but author has a guide for that. The mystery in the novel is even quite intriguing. The world is pretty well built. Author takes time to introduce the territories and its people. There is also a bit of comedy here and there.MOST IMPORTANTLY, he doesnt leave his wives when he goes on an adventure. He bring them and fights with him together. Something you hardly see in other novels.Im not saying that the novel has no problems but they are pretty small and are only at the start of the novel. The author improves along the way and massive improvements can already be seen early on the novel .As you go on you can see that Davis' adventure with his wives are amazing.P.S. : Shirley is a goddessOverallWriting Quality : 4.5/5Stability of Updates : 5 (Although we would love 3 chaps a day)Story Development : 5Character Design : 5World Background 5
I'm loving the book :)
The pacing in this section is absolutely relentless and I love it. Chapter 14-15: The pavilion fight, the drowning, the rescue, the confrontation with Zhang Yachu — all in one sitting. It moves fast, but never feels rushed because each beat has emotional weight. The transition from physical danger (falling into water) to social danger (Zhang Yachu's scheme) to emotional danger (the annulment letter) is seamless. Chapter 6 (Hongbai Mantra): This is where the chapter title itself is doing work. It's not just a name — it's almost like a prayer or a mantra he's repeating to himself about his feelings for Yun'er. The scene shifts from the chaotic pavilion to a quiet room, and that contrast is deliberate. The author is giving us a breath before the next hit. Chapter 7 (Framing): The title is a double meaning here — Zhang Yachu is being framed by Cao Lingyun's trap, but also the narrative is setting up a larger frame of revenge that will consume everyone. The chapter ends with Cao Jianfeng's roar and a woman sobbing, which is a perfect cliffhanger. I immediately opened the next chapter. The author knows exactly when to speed up and when to slow down. No filler, no dragging.
What can I say about this book? Intriguing captivating. This book is everything, highly recommended
