Nice book with interesting premise and an intriguing plot, the characters and world background are nice with just a few errs. The grammar, pacing and writing quality is simply better than that of his pass works. Although the book is pretty nice, I do believe other aspects like that narration and fleshing out of characters could be improved. Overall, the book is amazing for a quick read and I'mma adding this to library. Good Job Mel, and keep fighting!
If someone put all the cliches of Chinese novels together, in the most generic way possible, the end product would be very similar to this story.Was hoping for a new novel, not the same thing that has already been seen millions of times before.
This is such a disgrace. I see some people trying to defend this novel, but honestly they probably never even read Reverend Insanity. If they have then they probably would find this novel unbearable. They can't possibly comprehend the greatness of Reverend Insanity as well as Fang Yuan. This novel's mc is trash!

A well thought out and engaging story. It starts slow but picks up fast and keeps you wanting more. There is some, for lack of a better term, heavy handed nationalism in a couple of the more recent chapters, but I think we have all learned to roll our eyes and continue reading through it by now.Overall well worth your time, you won't regret giving it a chance!

I'm loving the development with Jackson for sure. It seems like a tough situation with Luca and I think he definitely needs to learn to communicate and not use silence as a punishment. Hope that with a therapist and true desire to change on his end help their relationship.
