When you first start reading it , the story looks as if it will go the same route as the cliche sign in novels. But surprisingly, it doesn't.
MC doesn't get OP at the start of the novel and there is no time skip of him doing the same thing everyday for 10 or 100 years.
MC has the cheat of getting reward for doing his job i.e. Appraisal of treasures at a pawnshop. But to not make this too overpowered, the author has put the restriction of baleful aura, if the MC tries to appraise a treasure that is out of his league or has a powerful ghost attached to it, he'll die.
In other sign-in or job-reward novels, the MC try to act super low-key and are trash in other people's eyes and hide themselves before doing anything with their power. But here the MC shows his power just enough to be labelled as a genius and get access to appraise more treasures. Smart move if I say so.
The world-building is great too, even though the MC doesn't go outside that often, his cheat allows him to see the history of the treasure that comes to the shop to be appraised and he is somehow involved in it.
If one notices carefully, the origin of his power being suspicious can also be seen, hints such as him thinking of the pill even though he can't afford it and wondering why is he doing that, when he says he doesn't understand alchemy, a reward is given so that he gets the basics, this isn't plot armor as we read it carefully.
He doesn't passively get beaten up or let someone take his life. Active and not overly dependant on his cheat.
A really good novel so far.

Honestly this book is a disappointment to me personally. It is way to slow for this type of novel. He unlocked his powers but doesn’t fight for almost 15 chapters. He doesn’t tell anyone. Makes no sense and is horrible written. I‘m sorry but this novel is to slow for anything enjoyable. Who wants to read the man character get bashed and then do nothing for almost 20 chapters. Lame asf. Not a great read.
such a well writen novel, this is a must read! i hope the Author will finish the novel, and the continuation of this one ?
This is a story that will be almost daily updated, and it will be more frequently updated if it's liked.I won't say much because you can check yourself whether you like the story or not. Any comments, thoughts, ideas and complaints are more than welcome.Don't forget to add this book to your library and hit that power stone button.
I love this book. I like how the story progresses. The interactions between the main character and male lead is cute. I can't help but to wait for more updates.
according to my posion dao it tells me this sh it just by the synopsis only p s if anyone finds it's not do point out it's redeeming point .
I am extremely impatiently waiting for this book to be picked. like why has it been 5 months since I first saw it and voted but it hasn't yet passed the screening? it's numbers are ridiculously high and I want to finish this story.
I had read upto 709 chapters in MTL version and I was amazed at my own persistence in reading this. I would rate this novel much better than other common modern tagged novels. This author did not take the racism or nationalism route like most of the Chinese authors. He did something even more amazing! He just simply turned blind eye! MC studied in the US for some time and he should've directly felt what it likes to live in a free country. But here it was never mentioned properly. I am not criticizing this point here. It just shows how much of trust the author has towards the authoritarian Chinese govt. One point that made me give up reading further than c709 in MTL is that there is no clear distinction between mc's private company and Chinese state. A state and an intellectual property is clearly different but here it's all kinda mixed up. There is another amazing thing about the novel is if you get lost in the story you won't notice the illogical stuffs. I admit here that if this novel were my first Chinese web novel experience, I will hardly notice any uncomfortable points but sadly this isn't my first so I can rate critically. I can guess what will happen after c709 so I have stopped myself from any further reading.
Anyway, it was a good attempt from the author. I will appreciate if the Webnovel community adds a novel that is free from racism and the twisted nationalism of China, kinda like this but much better. Good Luck
I can't stand reading this anymore the "great-grandmother" is an absolutely atrocious character and every chapter I read just pisses me off more. I was hoping she would grow a brain and stop being such a stuck-up conceited ***** but apparently that is too much to ask for.
I remember reading this to like 400 chapters and then quitting using mtl. I loved the beginning. This story uses the premise of lord if mysteries and adds some pretty unique ideas.... and that's where I stopped liking it.
People say if you like lord of mysteries then you'll like this.
I just wanna say... it was true at the beginning. Then he turned into a ....

Ot started off great. But there is one interesting quirk about his system. Yes. He has a system. He gets exp points by killing other beings, including humans. At the beginning he is against killing other humans for exp.
Then at some point his inhibitions disappear. At one point he goes and murders a whole lot of other magical occupational people like him (it wasn't his fault, kind of, he was out of control and being controlled). But after he gets away his only regret is that he couldn't get more points
That's when it started getting iffy for me.
I'm not looking for a story better or as good as lord of mysteries, but since people kept saying it was a good replacement while waiting for updates I thought I'd try.
It's not bad, but it's not good for me. The mc is nothing the lord of mysteries mc. He world building is good but some things get looked over. The mc was pretty good but then he began turning out like typical power hungry mc.
There are reasons for why he needs for (there is this character trying to kill him) and the world is changing.
Honestly, it's not a bad novel. I just think my expectations were too high. The character and plot development need serious help. But everything else is okay.
