well... I don't read novels here very often because only recently have I started using webnovel, so I can't really compare it to others, but I think the the concept of heroine being able to hear the villain's inner voice (mc of this story) is interesting.

Came here b/c I saw author recommended this from his other story. Right off, I'm loving it writing quality is great, stability of updates, uhh idk but I assume it's going to be great also, story development, awesome so far and I can't wait for more. Character design, I love how the author is making the zombie smarter and smarter as it goes on it's adventure. Honestly don't know too much about world background right now, only a few details based off what people say, but the world also seems pretty cool. so, 5-star, 4-star, 5-star, 5-star, 4-star, but because I haven't really seen enough of the story to make a super detailed review, and am really liking it I'm just going to give everything a 5-star. Once this gets to 20 chapters I will make a more detailed review, keep doing good work author!!!
To start the review off, I will say that this the same author who wrote "Strongest Abandoned Son", so if you read my review on that, you'll get the same gist of this review.
Protagonist was one of the world's best botanists in an alternate modern earth. He dies and is reincarnated into a new world of cultivation.
It must be the author's preference to take the plot really, really slow because it's the same deal as his other work, "Strongest Abandoned Son", the cultivation aspect in this novel is incredibly slow in comparison to your run-of-the-mill Xianxia novel.
Forty-two chapters in and the protagonist has barely grazed cultivation. The first forty chapters are nothing but world building, political conflict, and starting exposition to the world around him. Barely any actual progress in the cultivation aspect, which is the same deal in his other novel that is being translated here in this site.
His world building is fine, but the author has a habit of running around the issue in some areas. For instance, the world that the protagonist reincarnates into is a world where technology exists (cars and machines) but he keeps it purposefully vague. What era of technology? Why hide the setting you created and just ignore it? Only to use it in the beginning when you needed it?
I'd say a hundred chapters in is a good point to see if the story and the characters become endearing and fleshed out. Forty-two chapters in I can tell you that the main character is nothing special and thus far, the world around him is not the type to pull you (enchanting, mystical, mysterious, etc) in and keep you around. It's not bad, but it isn't good. Average. We'll see how this plays out in the future, but I'm doubting it.
The story, world, and characters are simply the textbook definition of "okay".

Nevertheless, my opinion is that if you must read anything by Goose Five (in this site), it should be this. Strongest Abandoned Fart is another beast in and of itself and you could never make me read it again.
I have read till 45th chapter and have to say the grammar in this novel isn't preferable. I know this novel is made after the novel "I became a second generation villain"(which is a great novel 100% recommended).
But the author of this novel has poorly displayed the plot. there are many plotholes but that can be ignored if you have patience. And the most disappointing thing is the "villain" is turning more into a protagonist.
I don't know after chapter 45 but it has been mostly disappointing to me.
Certain acts dosent suit a VILLAIN.
Also the dialogues of supporting characters are too trash.
I won't say anything anymore.
But i bet this wouldn't quench your thirst for VILLAINS.
Another fun story i like from lumyee but it sucks it has long updates T_T

The quality and pacing of story is really good..i dont mind reading 1000 more chapters without break if the story is just as smooth like this as it is now. Only time i feel like this when i am reading Fate destroying Emperor.
Hmm, I am really invested in this story. The MC is actually smart and witty who just doesn't blindly trust anyone. The world feels so large, world building is amazing, characters are amazing and I can't wait to read what happens next

I won't lie, I didn't expect a writing quality of this level. It's hard to find books with good writing quality these days man!
The author knows what he's doing with his story and although the start may feel slow, you won't be feeling bored anywhere.
I really liked Seth's personality, his young master aura as author puts it is enjoyable to read.
The conversations doesn't just feel plain text, it really feels like characters are conversing.
The story is in its early phase so the world is still developing but I can tell, if done right, it'll be an interesting world to experience.
All in all I think it's a good start and a potential great story.
And the writing quality man!
