This was an amazing story with an undeniably strong female lead. Fantastic job author. Yet another story to add to my favorites on here! Absolutely recommend reading!!
loved it, what a great to keep your imagination roaming in the fantasy
This scene. This absolute scene. Cui Lie standing over the pile of corpses in the mass burial ground, torch in hand, watching the flames eat everything — including the body that isn't even the real Shizi. The image of him kicking the body before lighting it is so viscerally cruel you can feel it in your chest. "Jin Mozhi, what does it matter if you were born noble? Aren't you just like a dead fish on a chopping block now?" The contrast between that blazing inferno under the cold night sky and the quiet farmhouse at the foot of the hills where Zhongshan and Zhishui are desperately trying to bring the Shizi back to life is *chef's kiss*. One scene is fire and fury and malice, the next is medicine brewing and feverish bodies and whispered prayers. The author moves between these two worlds like a camera panning across a film, and it's gorgeous. Also — the mass burial ground itself. Just a pile of corpses, dry autumn air, torchlight. The author doesn't need paragraphs of description. Three sentences and I'm there, gagging on the smell. That's skill.
lovvee it, nniice sssttory
I love it..and so excited if what will going to happen next :)
Is there ever going to be another update?
Hai,I have a query here,I am reading this book and it's quite enjoyable,am a stickler for details though... you describe Hudson as having blond hair and blue eyes, then Val as having brown hair with green eyes right?but I have seen her calling him Nigga twice now, isn't that a black thing??
Really love this book ?? I want Eiden too ❤️❤️
An excellent story well done Author ...
