Let me just say this: the stakes in this chapter are quietly insane and I need everyone to understand that. Three children. Hungry. Watching her. And Zhao Ran is the only adult in the picture. The conflict isn't some epic battle or dramatic betrayal—it's way more terrifying because it's real. What happens if she can't provide? What happens if the Kongjian runs dry? What happens if those kids keep looking at her with those enlarged eyes and she has nothing left to give? The author doesn't spell any of this out, which is exactly why it works. The tension is in the silence between lines. She's about to enter the Kongjian and the text just stops us there with three pairs of eyes staring. That's the hook. That's the suspense. Not 'will she fight a dragon' but 'will she figure this out before someone goes hungry again?' And honestly? I'm more invested than I've been for any battle scene in this entire novel. Because this is survival. Real survival. And I am not okay with any of those kids going to bed empty-stomached.
i love this!

good one I like it
It’s been a great book so far..
can’t wait for more chapters
This is indeed... an engaging narrative. Each arc on its own is exceptional, even excellent. However, when pieced together, it falls short. If the overarching plot were-paced better, it would undoubtedly deserve a full five-star rating. As it stands, after reading over 270 chapters, the characters remain virtually unchanged from their initial introduction.
To be honest, each standalone story captivates with its entertainment value. They stand strong on their own, but I can't help but feel同情 for the female lead. She perseveres in a challenging situation, which I must admit, I wouldn't have been able to handle like she does. After the third scam attempt, I'd have given up and sought revenge. The system's ability to dull her emotions might be the only reason she keeps going amidst the hardships.
If you enjoy getting emotionally invested in fictional characters without seeking a sweet balance, this story could be for you. Alternatively, if you prefer a more lighthearted approach, maybe set your expectations accordingly.
No matter how bad the translation gets don’t drop it. This book is well worth suffering through any translation
