So, I've been seeing authors doing this, so I might as well do it myself, I mean why not? Anyways, I'm very insecure so if you're too harsh with your critique I'm going to go cry in a corner. Nah but for real though, I hope everyone enjoys the story, and if you don't then I hope you manage to find something better out there!
Im back. Gonna read this again. Translation sucks but the story is good.. seems like machine translation with bit of editing
anyone know the raw?...................................................................................... ...... .....................
I'll start off by saying that I only read 5 of the 40 chapters. So take this review with a grain of salt. For all I know, this becomes a good story later on. The premise is what drove me to read this in the first place. But the constant mentioning of his double degree, the cliches (specifically the needlessly antagonistic characters, the stone ring, etc), and the part saying how the thunder damaged the TVs, phones, and routers tilted me. The last one could've been a translation issue and not an issue on the author's part (which some will say is me being nitpicky, but translation issues spell disaster for anything translated and if it was the author's mistake then I run the risk of being annoyed later on). Not to mention the two reviews I read from R00ks and Reading_immortal. But all of those things were enough for me to drop it at this point in time. Maybe I'm being overly critical due to the last few stories I reread being great (Throne of Magical Arcana and Lord of the Mysteries). Don't get me wrong though, this story will appeal to some people and might actually be a good casual read. But I don't have enough time in the day to read stories that I have a good likelihood to drop in the future. If anyone wants my rationale on my 3 star rating. It's not bad enough to be a 1 (a writing abomination), not great enough to be a 5 (a writing masterpiece). It doesn't compare to stories I would personally rate a 4. And the premise alone gives it another star in my opinion, hence a 3.
Ptui! This author's style is all about selling his integrity for immediate cheap thrills. Everything is retconned as soon as possible, even his body shape. It even happens from paragraph to paragraph; he'll clearly use a technique to boost his damage and then the next sentence he'll say "he didn't even use a technique!" Tangentially related, the name of the novel is Permanent Martial Arts, but the MC avoids martial arts like the plague. It's all just punching as hard as he can with no respect for martial arts. Only with the most dismissive and cynical eye could someone say that martial arts is only about punching hard. There's even some exposition about how martial arts is more than just hitting hard and then he continues to just do that. World background is pretty cool, it'd probably be like a 4 if it wasn't inconsistent. Superman exists as a fictional character. There are westerners and Asians despite it not being Earth. Technology is all over the place; it's just advanced until it's not for impact reasons.Character design is okay. I like the romance because it's so muted and feels kind of real. It's very reasonable for young people to not even know why they like each other. Specifically, it's nice to see other people have relationships. I actually don't mind harem novels, but my problem with them is usually only the MC can get all the best girls. It's great to see an MC with friends and that those friends have their own lives. Translation quality isn't bad. It's very readable with only some minor issues.Despite all of it's problems, I'm still reading >.>
It starts off with some plot building that fluently transitions from one chapter to the next. As one reads more, we learn more about our mc, other characters, and the world background. It has smooth flow, use of words, pauses, and the thoughts of our mc, all in all these factors with some others make this novel enjoyable.Chapters aren’t too short, nor too long. Each chapter leads to the next, which leads to an enjoyable reading experience.Nice translation ?:D
Wording is very well done, excellent storyline as well amazing and vivid imagery, I would definitely recommend this to other for a good nightly read
Great story so far, more chapters needed please completely binged it to this point, want more not completely satisfied yet...…..at al. Do a mass release pretty please
Its trash but i like it ????????????? ?????????????????????????????????????????????????
The Smiling, Proud Wanderer is a Wuxia novel by Jin Yong (Louis Cha). It was first serialized in Hong Kong in the newspaper Ming Pao from 20 April 1967 to 12 October 1969.Alternative Names:• Laughing in the Wind• State of Divinity• The Peerless Gallant Errant• The Proud and Gallant Wanderer• Xiao Ao Jiang Hu• 笑傲江湖Translators:• Lanny Lin (Chapter 1 - 21)• HHaung (Chapter 21)• Pokit (Chapter 21 onwards)• Bliss (Chapter 30 and 31)Editor:• HHaung (Chapter 21 onwards)The reason I'm putting up this novel is so I can read it for personal use. I watched the State of Divinity (1996 TV series) and loved that show. I knew there was a Novel of it but never spent the time to look for it until now. Was reading it online but the chapters very LONG and I keep loosing track of where I left off so I came here. Reading it off Webnovel is so much easier especially since it keeps track of where you left off. Unfortunately Webnovel has a 20k word / 100k character limit for each chapter so I had no choice but to chop up the chapters into parts. For those who also want to read this feel free. I am not taking someone else's work and passing them off as my own, full credit is given to the original writer, translators and editor as listed in the descriptions, plus the content of this novel is free online in multiple sources for everyone to read. So putting this up on Webnovel is just for my own convenience sake and anyone else who wishes to read this.
The MC is bad ass and all that but he does random things for girls. Jack doesn't like MCs who turn on servant mood whenever some girl appears. I'm dropping this novel sadly. Might pick it up to binge read next year...
