Great old one MC.
A review at 20 chapters.I posted a couple of comments in the first chapters about what the MC was even there for, figuring that he would just be a slave of the system. I'm really not a fan of that type of trope, so I was dreading reading another story where the MC is led around by the nose.Turns out I was half right, in that the MC isn't led around by the system, but by the situation and the customers he's helping. Which could be seen as a distinction without a difference. But it turns out it's not important at all.You see, the MC isn't really the MC. He's a side character, and that's fine. The system isn't the MC either, as it just facilitates what the MC needs to do. No, the real main character isn't a character at all, but the story itself. Or rather, the stories contained within the story.So far, in 20 chapters, there has been one completed story, and most of a second. The first was... heart wrenching. Good in its way, but the characters involved are really something else. There's anger, there's sadness, there's actual emotion that's pretty rare to find in these parts.But the second story, well, it's just... beautiful. A story of a noble heart and unwavering spirit that is truly touching.And where are the MC and the system in all this? They're just facilitating the stories being told. And that's just fine.
The stakes in this section are quietly enormous and I think that's what makes it so gripping. On the surface, Xia Zhen's conflict is simple: she needs to make Pei Cheng'an lose interest so she can exit this arranged relationship gracefully. But the author keeps raising the stakes with every scene. First, Pei Cheng'an shows up when she didn't expect him. Then Xue Chen reveals his feelings (to us, if not to her). Then Pei Cheng'an says he'll 'treat Xia Zhen seriously.' Each beat makes her original plan more impossible. The internal conflict is where it really gets interesting. Xia Zhen keeps telling herself she's just playing a role, but notice how she's actually watching Pei Cheng'an's reactions the whole time. 'She secretly watched Pei Cheng'an's reaction.' 'Her gaze of admiration was real.' She's trying to perform indifference but her eyes are giving her away. That's the real conflict—not the plot mechanics, but her own heart betraying her. And Xue Chen's stakes? They're devastating. He's been protecting this secret for years, and now that his sister knows, he's terrified of exposure. But worse than that—he's watching the person he loves most be with someone else. The author makes us feel the weight of every silence, every averted gaze. The hiking date invitation at the end raises the stakes one more time. Xia Zhen just survived one disastrous encounter and now he's asking for MORE time? The tension is unbearable and I cannot wait to see what happens next.
I voted for The Spiritual Attainment of Minghe instead of this and boy do i feel stupid, this is far more interesting and easier to read then that sack of **** The Spiritual Attainment of Minghe novel crap.

Sometimes I want to go psycho? and kidnap the Translator, just to whip him for more translations of this. Ugh! I need to punch someone from the excitement I feel. I ship Luo and Ye. ? I feel so violent and pent up. WOOOOO.Don't worry I won't kidnap you Translator.... ?
This novel is kinda like Mediterranean hegemon of Ancient Greece. Even the start is the same except for the weird romance. If I recall the reason I dropped this was because of the romance. All in all nothing in the novel really made me keep reading. For example the Mc, side characters, Fl, the world. But that’s just me I’m sure others enjoy this.
