I think the chars are fun so far, and the writing is believable and neat! I'm not nearly caught up but this book has been a breath of fresh air recently!
I don't like it. They really get get immersed in this game, to the point that they are cursing at the computer screen asking others to avenge them. The author tries to make it sound like their characters are actually them for dramatic *******, but at least for me, it doesn't work when you know it is just a game. If the foreshadow at start is anything to go by this is going to be a semi generic video game web novel. MC will get rich and popular off of this game.
i took the plunge for everyone who is curious about this novel as of now(chap 86) i would like to say the story is aight its as most people have said like the shield girl one but a little less cringe but with more chinese influence although it has an american background at some point in the 30's-40's it wasnt even a novel anymore it feels like a machine translation where one sentence its completely wrong and the next its the right grammar as the story is progressing the mc is slowly going from reg player who got supremely lucky to cliche arrogant chinese mc who looks down on everyone i also really hoped that there wouldnt be any "im rich so everyone caters to me and i can throw money around like it's nothing so everyone is my servant" kind of side villians but you do see it every few chapters at the beginning the author or translater (by how the novel is reading) was doing pretty well and keeping up with stats and skills but later has just totally given up on correcting mistakes and just copy pasteing mtls i would like to say that ill continue holding out and hoping that maybe it would get better but as of now id say theres no hope, u gotta pay for chapters 20 chapters early and theres no effort being put into the grammar so that people who have a hard time reading will have an even harder time id say just give up dont read it if ur curious go ahead its not like im your boss
I very much enjoy the world and the mystery of magic and the MC trying to figure out how it works, but I find myself frequently frustrated by the stupidity of the MC. Also his simping and beta willingness to always take a back seat is not my cup of tea. He falls in love with an NPC. what does this actually mean? it means he doesn't try in sparring matches. He lets her use magic and skills while he doesn't so this love is really him just allowing himself to get beat up and her enjoying beating him up. He never seems to try in matches, which is another reason why the tournament arc killed the novel for me. Tournament arcs are normally bad, but here he takes a back seat for buddies, avoids what he's best at in individual, and then doesn't even try in his matches cause he wants to know what dying feels like. He's just too pathetic to be likable to me. all his greatest moments are just different ways of hating himself and committing suicide for others he cares about more than himself. He's got issues. He even refuses to properly equip himself because he's too busy equipping everyone else because he's not as important as others.
Really great book to read! it is just theres no update till now, was it axed or dropped? would appreciate it if someone would enlighten us!!
Read to chapter 10, and I'm already bored.I haven't read very far, but I can tell the author is very talented... in padding out the word count. The first ten chapters could've been condensed into three or four chapters. It's constant exposition-dumps and random details that are completely irrelevant to the story. Main character has gotten a system on chapter 1, and still hasn't used it on a pet. (He can copy pets abilities and teach them to others, he hasn't taught a single pet yet)As for everything else? It's exceedingly mediocre. Theres other pet taming novels, this does nothing different. It feels like I'm re-reading this novel despite the fact I haven't read it before. Character design is pretty much identical to every other pet taming novel. Same with world background and even the plot.Overall, I'm worried that if I continue reading, I might fall asleep.
This story is just great.Try it.One of his negatives is that the beginning of the story makes the hero look too OP.To have read until the last chapter (78 actually) this is still true .By against the author suggests that in truth it is not not so powerful compared to real power.I could write several pages on it.What basically stands out is: -You have to love amoral MCs (in the style of killing and torturing innocent people to achieve their goals).-Love the MC Op (at least at the beginning)-Do not be patriotic (SPOILER: one of the goals of the hero is the world domination because the countries are useless at our time (which is not wrong but hey we do not live in a world of Care Bears)).
