got clickbaited sighhonestly a good novel just not my type has all the elements of a good novel in it at least till ch 3 or 5 it's just the perfect starter novel type thinganyway got clickbaited thought it was an ancestor type novel but isn't
The pacing in these two chapters is absolutely relentless and I am here for it. Chapter 5 opens with a physical comedy beat (the shoe tapping), moves into Rong Li's internal panic, then transitions to a warm family lunch scene that gives us breathing room, then pivots HARD into a medical crisis. That's three distinct tonal registers in one chapter and the author navigates them all without a single stumble. The lunch scene with the Empress is the masterclass moment here. It serves as emotional decompression after the Zhan Qin encounter, but it's also doing crucial plot work — establishing the mother-daughter relationship, hinting at the upcoming "solution," and making us feel the weight of imperial duty pressing on Rong Li. When the Empress says "spend the next couple of days recuperating" it sounds like care but reads as a setup. Brilliant misdirection. Then Chapter 6 opens with the physician returning and immediately ramps the tension back up. The palace secret illustrations scene is where the pacing gets really interesting — the author lets us breathe with Rong Li reading those elegant-sounding chapter titles, giving us false relief, before the illustrations hit and the comedy takes over. It's a classic comedic rhythm: tension → release → bigger tension. My only note: the transition between the Empress leaving and the physician arriving feels slightly abrupt. A small bridge — even just Rong Li's thoughts about what her mother meant — would have smoothed it. But honestly, the breathless quality of the pacing works for the genre. I wanted to keep turning pages and I did.
Dont drop this peace of marvelous gem of a novel LOVE IT MORE PLZZZZ!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm loving what I am reading so far. The story is intriguing and I was captivated by it. This is the second book about a system that I have read, and it's really good. I can't wait to keep on reading to see how the character progresses. Keep up the good work.
LOVE it ???. Just hoping the author don't drop this. its one of my fav where the mc is strong and on the way to become overpower but mc not overpower from the start. And its NOT a harem as well, i was a little disappointed as he seem to only loyal to one wife while i was hoping for 2 or 3 wives. but author seem never upload any new chapter recently. Please author NEVER drop
Finally a BL novel. The translation is not that bad and I kinda like this ancient bl story. Specially I find it hilarious that the MC is both unlucky and lucky at the same time.
Really wish this novel had kept going. Two years later and I still find myself thinking back to the main character from time to time, and the rather interesting and unique take on his whole solar blood style of magic. While I understand the author probably has stopped working on projects, I hope I can find their work in future elsewhere.
A novel with no substance is just rubbish. A novel with no substance is just rubbish. A novel with no substance is just rubbish. A novel with no substance is just rubbish. A novel with no substance is just rubbish.
