Seshata has hit their groove early on in Humanity Online: Viren’s Refuge. Readers closely follow Erik Lieu in first person, present tense as he dives into the world’s first and greatest VRMMORPG. An elite gamer, his running narrative reveals him to be equal parts confident (bordering on arrogance) and vulnerable (humble enough to know when to laugh at himself). And readers will laugh! His self-aware, at times self-conscious, at times self-deprecating, cynicisms leave no one unscathed. His incisive wit (read: snark) dissects a well-planned world rich in detail, historical lore, and ripe with future potential. And not just gaming potential! The stakes are high in Viren’s Refuge with a sweetened pot provided by the games originator. And for Erik, making his way to the top is about more than just being the best — it’s personal, too. Action-packed cinematic sequences meld seamlessly with plot-turns and character exploits in chapters written so well they virtually read themselves aloud to you. This book is perfect for anyone who has ever sought the answer to - do video game Gods have a sense of humor? Or - what happens if the Chosen One loses his trousers? I can’t wait to find out, myself!
Before I say anything, I know when you write English words in Chinese they sound more than a little odd. But in an obviously western themed story, if the main characters name comes out as f@ck1ng RINC YOU SHOULD KNOW SOMETHING IS WRONG. I usually hate writing a review before release, the main reason being that a "review" has to review some actual content.Half of the so called, "reviews" on qidian are just asshats who read the blurb, and ONLY the blurb and go "wow this story is great/bad/rubbish/amazing"It just drives up the wall as THAT IS NOT WHAT A REVIEW IS. Godamn, good books are coming out with 3 stars because of dumb stuff like that. Fix your sh1t qi. *end of rantAnyways, I've read the tl of this book on another site and it was great. I've really enjoyed it and the translation was good and you could see the translater actively improving their skills. That's why I've rated most of this highly (giving the benefit of the doubt on release rate). As for translation quality... I've got some hopes, but not many. The synopsis is already showing how green the translator is. And it makes my heart pound with worry. Too many stories on qi have just been utterly mauled and ravaged by inept translators and editors that don't even improve over the course of SEVERAL HUNDRED Chapters. I truly hope this one will be alright. Here is the synopsis from the previous site and you can compare it yourself:The number one magician in the game, Link, led his group to defeat the final boss: Ruler of the Abyss, Nosamax. Then, a cinematic appeared. It was a very ****** one. There was an endless void, and within the emptiness there was a self-proclaimed Ruler of Light — a dim globe of light.“Link, are you willing to save the continent of Feiloma from the envelopment of darkness?” asked the Ruler of Light.Of course, in reality, he wouldn’t dream of agreeing to such a laden mission. However, couldn’t he give it a shot in the game?“I am willing!” Link replied in deadly earnest.“Then go ahead.”And thus, Link was thrown into the miserable continent of Feiloma.
Lots and lots of fake 5 star positive reviews at chapter 0 ... and yet i can't stand the protagonist. The MC is a coward. The dialog is cringe-worthy and unrealistic. The rest of the characters are total idiots including the "magic academy" staff that fall for very bad acting. I couldn't go on. If it was something printed it would end up in the garbage at chapter 4. There are a few fatty protagonists out there that are really likable. Ever read Chaotic Lightning Cultivation? Too bad that was dropped. :(If you disagree with this review please provide some arguments.Does it get better after a few chapters?

This novel is a great read with great character development. It's the best read for football enthusiasts. The only problem is the update speed
This girl/guy (Idk which) is like my favorite auther they wrote dreadful radio show which is one of my top 3 books of all time you never know what's gonna happen next a guy who seems crazy is normal a normal guy is a ghost a guy who's a ghost is alive it never stops
Review for chapter 1-10: The start was very fluid. No huge info dump that would make you drop on the first chapter though a lot are taken aback from the text message from a kid. If you get pass that, you'll find out how good this novel is.The world got slowly narrated in bits and pieces by the MC since it's in his POV. One of the bits I like is when they're looting, each item is told specifically and not generalized like saying 'we collected everything' e.g. Even the guns are identified properly, not just simple saying rifle, shotgun, or pistol. The characters are great and the High IQ Low-Medium EQ MC is something I really like and the MC is awkwardly funny in some situations besides his calculated nature. 5 Stars!
