The passage where she contrasts her old life (waking up at six, two subway transfers, overtime until ten, earning ten thousand a month) with her new life (a few taps, tens of thousands deposited) isn't just showing off wealth. It's showing the emotional weight of security. She loves being a landlady. She says it outright. And the most touching part? It's not the buildings or the money—it's the little moments. The children calling for ice cream. Wen Shihan standing quietly while they eat. The tenant family wanting a larger apartment because they're happy. This is a story about finding peace, and it's doing it through the most unexpectedly wholesome means.
