Let's talk about stakes because this opening is playing 4D chess with survival. Xu Songhe just died once—run over by a truck, transmigrated into a fantasy novel, woke up on a stone slab surrounded by man-eating demons. The System tells her the only way home is to raise favorability to 100% with this terrifying young man. So basically, she has to befriend the most dangerous person in the cave while pretending not to be terrified, all while covered in fake blood and praying the demons don't come back. And then the four-eyed demon shows up. She throws herself in front of the boy to protect him—her first act of genuine courage in this world—and gets slammed into a wall like a ragdoll. The System's cheerful "Excellent, Host!" in the middle of that is almost comedic in its cruelty. What keeps me on edge is the uncertainty. Is the young man actually on her side? He saved her from the demon, sure, but he also casually considered killing her. He gave her three bamboo whistles and then thought to himself he'd never actually come if she blew them. Is he manipulating her? Protecting her? Both? The stakes aren't just about survival anymore—they're about trust in a world where everyone wants to eat you. Every chapter ends with her in more danger than the last. I can't stop reading.
Author here with a very biased review of my book.This is my second attempt at this book, the first felt really rushed so I had to double down and start all over.If you are into a world filled with fantasy and technology and how both them relates with each other as the MC journeys to get over his trauma then this might be for you.I would really love to know your thoughts on it thanks.
It’s about that time of the month, the time for a shameless five star rating! Alright, here are a few things I think you should know about the book. The novel is set in a modern time where Earth is suffering from the punishment of the gods. Apocalypse, a strange phenomenon, would occasionally descend on a city, bringing with it a horde of horrid monsters that can only be stopped once all waves have been cleared. The story follows Ark, someone who has inherited the heritage of a god and would dive into divinity, bloodlines, prophecies, betrayal and a host of other stuff as the story goes on, but first, our little rascal has to get some meat on his bones!There is a second realm where curse bearers can travel to, a world filled with mythical beasts (yes, Dragons!), elves and the likes. This world initially serves as a training ground for young curse bearers, but of course, it will come with its own twists and turns. Is there romance? Of course! But you will have to wait a little.Harem? Nope, no harem here.It is not like the regular apocalypse novel since this novel follows a different pattern that I believe you will all enjoy.
