Totally love it short and sweet. To the point. Write more of such… ......️
So far so good.
I really like this novel; initially, I was a bit skeptical about reading it, but I ended up enjoying it. The story is engaging, and I can't wait for new chapters.
The main character (MC), XL, is intelligent, and the male lead (ML), L, is incredibly supportive. The side characters are also very endearing.
(Spoiler)
The MC has never been in love before, likely due to his impoverished background, which keeps him constantly occupied with work and studies. This has led to him acquiring various unusual skills from his odd jobs, making him somewhat oblivious to his emotions.
On the other hand, the ML might not be human and has lost certain "body" parts, which he needs to retrieve. Each time he recovers a part, he becomes more powerful and may regain some of his memories.
(Spoiler End)
The MC and ML complement each other well, and I especially enjoy one of the side characters, WT, who is both funny and charming.
The story is fantastic, filled with humorous misunderstandings, and the horror and mystery elements are well-executed. Kudos to the author!
P.S.: Apologies for any typos or grammar errors; English is not my first language.
It's unfortunate that I enjoy the novel, but the translation quality is truly disappointing. Allow me to illustrate with an example:
In Chapter 6 (WM and BS Translation), it reads: "but internally, it is such a variety show that specializes in cutting fans’ leeks?"
In the unedited version from Google Translate: "but internally, it's a variety show that's designed to rip off fans?"
The official translation loses clarity, as the meaning is practically harder to comprehend.
When does that happen? Even though I hate harem I can't drop a novel I picked up, it just feels wrong ?
That's what I'm saying
Wherever I go, i see your comment asking the same d*mn thing
It’s pretty good, there are no obvious plot holes and plot is somewhat interesting. But after reading my “house of horrors” I simply can’t enjoy it. I don’t feel the trill.
I'll have to check those out! Thanks!
Not so much, but it's definitely for top 10, I'd say it's better than shadow slave
I'll be back next week since I need to attend school. My name is Sang Wenhao, a recent engineering graduate, and I曾经做过助教.
On the other hand, there's Fu Erdie, who stays at home, jobless but pursuing a career as a writer and artist. Our names aren't related to the initials MC and ML, huh? ?
A word of caution: In an earlier chapter, someone attempted to rape the main character. Don't worry; the way the MC handled the situation was satisfying. Chapter 6 had me shocked and on the edge of my seat – it was intense! Just be patient while reading the early chapters. Although the MC comes across as pessimistic, she's quite strong-willed. Despite being a homebody, she exercises regularly, always taking the stairs instead of the elevator, which contributes to her physical strength. From Chapter 12 to 14, she struggles to survive despite her suicidal thoughts.
Spoiler alert:
There's a theory that the MC's body can control the house, almost like they're one entity. If she were to die, she might somehow resurrect within the house... This is still speculative.
In the story, cucumber and tomato have a playful rivalry. The MC separates them, but they try to reunite and continue their little fights. The MC finds it amusing. ?
The MC also interacts with plant babies, and they're excited about something called 'nucleus.' For those unfamiliar, she offers to let them sleep in her bed to practice their abilities, but they end up fighting over it. ?
There's a sweet moment where MC and ML develop feelings for each other without any instant love connections. It's more like a natural connection forming over time. ?
During an interview:
When asked for the first impression, MC describes ML as a big dog, while ML sees MC as a cat, wanting to pet her but being mindful of not coming across as inappropriate.
When they venture outside their community, they claim it's just a neighborhood cleanup drive, a community service activity.
Before diving into the novel:
1. The main character's love interest is named Sang Wenhao.
2. The first 17 chapters are intense, followed by a warm and nurturing shift from Chapter 18. The general plot involves fighting, gardening, infrastructure development, plant cultivation, and more battles.
3. The book's title, which means "lying flat" initially refers to giving up hope. However, as the story progresses, the house's mutation and new circumstances inspire the protagonist to fight for survival.
I must confess that this novel has ranked among the finest I've ever encountered.尽管篇幅较长,但每章都令人深感愉悦。作者在构建世界观上耗费心思,角色塑造生动,他们之间的互动既有深度又不乏幽默。总的来说,我给它满分五分。
This is precisely the kind of novel that readers might initially be apprehensive about, but its concept and originality far surpass my expectations. I sincerely hope it will resonate with you too, and it has consistently provided me with immense enjoyment throughout. As I'm relatively new to consistently leaving reviews, I'm unsure if my feedback reaches the wider community, but I do hope it offers some guidance to those on the fence about reading this book. Thank you.
