The story is truly intriguing band it has great plot. I'm also starting to like Flynn. He seems like he would really be an interesting character to read about

The summary is quite misleading. I thought I was going to read yet another clichéd urban cultivation story, but this is actually more of a supernatural horror story with a relatively light and comedic tone. MC is basically a spirit hunting exorcist, as his cultivation techniques are particularly effective against spirits, evil or otherwise. Spirits with quirks similar to ghosts in horror stories are the antagonists in this story, so far no mention of any spirit beasts or the like. I like how the MC is to evil spirits basically what they are to ordinary humans: their worst nightmare. Writing quality is decent, translation has some problems (mainly with gender pronouns), but I've read worse. No romance so far, MC seems uninterested in such pursuits. He seems mildly sociopathic; he mostly acts ethically, but I get the feeling that it's more because he knows intellectually the difference between right and wrong and what is lawful or criminal, rather than it being an instinct coming from his conscience and empathy towards fellow human beings. Anyway, in conclusion, it's a fairly amusing and entertaining read, different from the most popular cultivation story formulas. I can recommend it, particularly if you like ghost stories and supernatural mystery.
This novel is really good with my only problem really being the amount of chapters that it can take for the Mc to decide to break trough. Even though it is extremely great it has few readers compared to many other novels wich I think is sad. And I think that the reason for that is both that this novel never is in any webnovel tournament/event and the novels cover.The cover isn't really representing the novel well and I personally almost didn't read the novel because I disliked the cover. Anyway great story with a good Mc.
right away I will say this story has decent world-building and ok story development. but that's it. first of all, reading the first 15 or so chapters is like rubbing sandpaper on your eyes and is the visual equivalent of nails on a chalkboard. excruciatingly slow start, repeating segments that don't add anything, and a general lack of plot development outside of typical world building combines with machine translation quality English to create a unique abomination. to top it off it's maddening that a story can have such decent world-building while making a character so empty I question if the story even needs them. I will attempt to read the remaining chapters while it's free, but genuinely don't think I can. this novel isn't the worst thing ( that goes to a novel that suddenly became one-piece fanfic at chapter 85ish) but I cannot stress enough how mediocre at best this is.
Reviewed 5 chapters. There’s action. Plenty of action which reminded me of Warhammer. So if you are into fantasy (and not the eastern type), this is a book you might like to try.
It’s was a great read overall but after around ch800 the pacing starts to fall. Would still recommended picking this novel up to read but till ch800.
