très bon début, très amusant, j'ai hâte de voire la suite. le mc est très jouissif, son pouvoir amène beaucoup de possibilité et est assez original.
I like this novel so much it have all it takes to make me read it even more. Please update more so that i could read it more in the future. I think it was the best of the best that i have read.

I read the author’s previous book, soldiers of time and really liked it so I decided to give this one a shot as well. So far I like the MC and his thought process on things like how to grow stronger and over all mentally. So far the side characters haven’t been as developed as his other book but these are only the first chapters. He hasn’t really interacted with his assassination organization where I assume most are of the interesting side characters will be. The MC starts of weak but gets strong enough to where even though he has a disadvantage his wits are enough to get him to the finish line and I like that his wins feel earned. So for it’s been good and I’m looking forward to more!
Very nice novel.and indeed very much intruiging since from the beginning of the story.the twists of the story makes us readers to crave for more chapters.and it goes more and more exciting to wait on what will happen next to our dearest cale.
I could not help but be a bit disappointed by this novel. It felt so good at first, but I could not help but notice that he feels like a complete noob at times, when he was supposed to be a pro who survived until the end. I also could not help but notice that in the first chapter, it was mentioned that he could rememeber anything if he just focused on it. I could not help but notice that he seemed oblivious to things that he should rememeber, or atleast have an idea of. An example being when he retrieved the pain relief pills through the menu. He was shocked they materialized infront of him, when after literal years of gameplay, he should have known that would happen for NPC’s.I could not help but notice that the technology tree seems highly limiting.
At the time of the review there are 6 chapters. and I like tho story a lot and think it has a lot of potential. I am really interested in the brother sister dynamics and hope it will continue to be developed.
There's something deeply symbolic about water in this passage that I can't stop thinking about. Xie Zhi learns to swim from her mother, a fisherwoman who was sold into the Prefect's residence to survive. Water is both her mother's world and her own salvation—it's what saves her from the lake, but it's also what nearly drowns her. She swallows lake water, her voice becomes a kitten's mew, she drifts between sinking and floating. Water here represents both danger and agency, and that duality is exactly who Xie Zhi is. The token she sends is another powerful symbol. It's supposed to be her message to Pei Hong, her attempt to reach out, to connect, to control her own fate. But Pei Du intercepts it. The token never arrives. This is the central tragedy of her character: everything she tries to use as a tool for escape or connection gets intercepted or twisted. She's always reaching, always scheming, always one step behind someone else's plans. And then there's the fever. Illness as a metaphor for her entire situation—she's burning up, delirious, losing control of her body just as she's losing control of her circumstances. When she wakes and immediately asks about Shuangfu and Princess Yuyang, it shows that even in vulnerability, her mind is still calculating, still surviving. She can't turn it off. The Old Madam's line about the temple being "cold and austere" is also worth sitting with. The temple represents escape, yes, but also erasure. To go there is to cease being a person with ambitions and become a shadow. Xie Zhi doesn't want that. She wants to stay in the world, to fight, to manipulate, to survive within the system rather than退出 it. What I find most striking is the recurring image of her being carried. First Pei Du carries her from the lake. Then he carries her after her breakdown. She's always physically supported by the very person she claims to hate. Is this protection? Possession? I think it's both, and that ambiguity is what makes this story so rich.
