Great book
This story is amazing
Let me just say this — the stakes in this chapter went from "family drama" to "life or death" faster than I could blink. It starts with the bandit attack. A fierce, chaotic scene where Cao Lingyun and her mother are surrounded, where the bandit leader is leering at Cao Lingyun, where everything feels genuinely dangerous. And then Zhou Hongbai appears. But the tension doesn't drop — it shifts. Because now the question isn't just "will they survive?" but "who orchestrated this?" The internal conflict is where this chapter really shines. Cao Lingyun is caught between two worlds. She loves Zhou Hongbai — she finally admits it, she finally says it — but she's also bound to a family that is actively trying to destroy her. Her mother is being manipulated. Her stepmother and stepsister are behind the kidnapping. And her father? He's complicit through his silence and his weakness. The scene where Zhou Hongbai confronts Canglang is pure tension. Every question he asks raises the stakes. "Was someone behind this, ordering you? How much silver did they give you?" He's not just interrogating a bandit — he's dismantling the entire conspiracy piece by piece. And Cao Lingyun is watching, calculating, waiting for the right moment to strike. When she turns to Nanny He — "Nanny He, why do you keep staring at Canglang?" — that's the moment the trap snaps shut. She's been playing a longer game this whole time, letting everyone think she's just a timid young lady while she pieces together the conspiracy. The stakes just went from personal survival to family destruction. And the physical stakes are real too. Liu Ruoyan is terrified. Nanny He is trembling. Canglang is thinking about his newborn son and his seventy-year-old mother. This isn't abstract drama — people's lives are on the line. The bandit was willing to ruin reputations for two hundred taels. The nanny was willing to betray her mistress for... what? Survival? Fear? The text doesn't say, and that ambiguity makes it worse. The chapter ends with the truth exposed but the consequences still unwritten. Peng Xue's face showed "no trace of anger." That woman is not done. None of them are. And I need the next chapter immediately.
This book was an outstanding read, featuring various interconnected stories where the main character evolved into numerous personas while maintaining a consistent sense of honor. I would rate the romantic and heartwarming elements a full 5 stars, as they were captivating. However, the dramatic parts scored slightly lower at 4 stars due to some emotionally charged plotlines that elicited tears. The storylines were both engaging and thought-provoking, imparting valuable life lessons along the way.
It’s hard I think. It’s about stereotype thing. Don’t even start talk about story just imagine instead of kazuki or shin jongwoo it’s Joshua who got hit by a truck in the middle of new York and being transport to other world is already weird.
That was uh... well maybe find a different book lol.
