The author is playing with multiple layers of tension simultaneously, and it's working really well. I was genuinely invested in whether this girl could actually pull it off. It shows that the damage isn't just emotional — it's economic. Real people are losing real opportunities because of online narratives. That raises the stakes from 'girl gets bullied' to 'entire company suffers.' Much more compelling.
