But here's what really got me — Mu Anran's pivot. She doesn't just defend herself, she DRAGS her sister into the mud. That line where she asks if Mu Anfu and Prince Rong are secretly pledged? That's not just clever, that's dangerous. She's basically saying, if we're throwing stones, I'm throwing boulders. And it works. Mu Anfu is caught off guard, and suddenly the whole room is watching her instead. The Empress Dowager's line at the beginning — "Bengong isn't anxious, so why is Consort Lan in such a hurry?" — sets the tone perfectly. The power dynamics in this scene are razor-sharp. Every character is calculating, every word is a weapon. And then Mu Anran drops that final bomb: she admires the Emperor, the Empress Dowager, the Empress, her father, the generals, the scholars... but explicitly says she holds NO admiration for the Crown Prince. The audacity. The plot just took a sharp turn and I need to know what happens next.
Okay so I need to process this. The entire first chapter sets up this devastating moment — Song Qingfeng comes home crippled, both legs injured, the villagers gossiping, Ma Guilian worried, everyone expecting Qiao Nianyao to crumble — and then BAM, the narrator drops this bombshell that she's not even from this era. She transmigrated two years ago from some post-apocalyptic future where she had wood-element healing powers and died fighting alongside enemies. Like. What. The original owner, Qiao Xiaowan, had tried to drown herself and Song Qingfeng pulled her out, which according to local custom meant he had to marry her. He paid five hundred yuan — an astronomical sum at the time — to redeem her from the Old Qiao family. So the marriage started from a rescue, not romance, but now she's living as his wife in 1972 rural China while hiding the fact that she's actually a supernatural healer from another world. The plot structure here is brilliant because it operates on two levels. On the surface, it's a period drama about a disabled soldier returning home and his wife's reaction. Underneath, it's a transmigrator story where the protagonist already knows how everything will play out but has to navigate this harsh era while concealing her true nature. The chapter ends on a cliffhanger about WHY the original owner tried to kill herself, which immediately hooks you into wanting to read more. I also love how the dog Dahuang is introduced — tied up because Song Qingfeng was too fierce even for the soldiers, and now he's whining because he couldn't protect his owner. It's a tiny detail but it tells us everything about who Song Qingfeng used to be before the injury.

i mean. This is a great novel, dark, gritty and thrilling. it's intricate and well crafted, the narrative is incredible. overall, it's just having three chapters at the time of this review and i think it's quite good.Highly recommend!!

Very nice story. Very solid baseline of the story. The plot is nice and comedic but it needs more suspense and it will be perfect. This is one of the best stories i ever read.
what can I say, this genre is always interesting where protagonist can gain power after death. this novels premise is not as ridiculous as others where mc can revive billion or even trillions of times. after reading authors works, i have high hopes for this. keep it up author. I also hope you sort out your situation and return to talent swallowing system. till then i will hold try life blood cultivation and this novel

usually don't read any stories like this but it was interesting ...!!!!! with someone with PTSD should not read something like this because it can trigger but I still like it. So don't give up Author 3d
